Pachinko: It's complicated.

You buy the little ball bearings and you put them in the machine. It's random. If you get more ball bearings out of the machine then you put in, then you turn those in around the corner for gifts, then you sell the gifts to the next door over for cash. That's how they get around the gambling laws. I'm not 100% sure about the cashing out part though, as I went busto with my 5000 yen investment.

I started off doing ****ty, getting nothing back from the machine, so I waved over a little old guy and pointed at the machine like, WTF is this ****? He turned a random knob on the machine to the right like 12° and the thing started spitting out tons of balls. I threw a handful into his bucket--which he tried to refuse but I wasn't having it. A few minutes later, I thought I was king **** and turned the knob another 12° to the right and the ballstream dried up immediately, the old man was gone and I went busto.
