I only glimpsed through the doc but in my opinon, it's software doesn't have any kind of pattern recognition software built in to actually identify the cards. It also doesn't have any kind of mechanism for gripping holding cards into the correct order. Essentially the machine would have to
1) Make an initial pass through the deck to determine what order the deck is in.
2) DetRermine which set of cards to place based on the # of players
2a) This seems more difficult even at tables that electronically track who is sitting down mainly because you also have to account for people who go on smoke breaks and miss the hand.
3) Reorder the cards in the deck. The hardware would need some mechanism to hold a card in place until it got to its predetermined order. This seems way more difficult when you imagine how many passes it would require if the machine could only grip one card while also keeping track of the card order.
