Should I quit? 2nl GG Should I quit? 2nl GG

I am not making deposits anymore, but my BR is more or less same after a month of 4 tabling 2nl zoom. wanted to learn and play 2nl simultaneously, but after seeing my graph in poker tracker and with -5bb/100 over 90k hands i feel like quitting and returning to my tech job.

anyone willing to chip in their honest opinion about this would help a lot.

You're not losing a lot in terms of money. If you still like playing poker and are eager to learn, I don't see why you should quit just yet.

If you'd like to know what you can do to get better results, you might want to ask here. Make sure to mention what you are already doing, so peeps can give better advice.

You're not that much of a loser dude. I certainly wouldn't quit playing over that little bit of lost money. Maybe zoom isn't your game. I'd bet if you selected you game better you could already be a winning player. Maybe 6 max or full-ring cash would suit you better. I don't play on GG and have never played zoom but from what I hear it's not that soft or easy. I would think 6 max and I know for a fact full-ring is a lot softer even on Pokerstars which has tougher competition on avg/overall compared to GG.

So your choices either are switch games/game select better or pay for zoom coaching and study more at zoom if want to keep playing zoom and be a winning player. The thing is you need to win more then 2nl offers to pay for coaching. I personally in your shoes would switch games or game select better before paying for micro stakes 1 on 1 coaching. Maybe pay a good coach or someone(a 1-2 time fee) to review your hands and offer some advice on what to study to improve your zoom game. If you don't want to switch games.

Last thing I'd do is quit at this point. Things aren't that bad thru less then 100k hands.

PS. FWIW I likely would never quit if I was a losing player of such a little amount of money over less then 100k hands. Plenty of people pay ALOT more money then that monthly to do their hobby. So worst case and if you enjoy playing poker consider it a hobby. Currently for you its a very cheap hobby. Everyone wishes they had such a cheap hobby.

Cheers!!!

It sucks but I’d just learn some fundamentals first before you play again. It’ll be tedious and take some time but you’re doing the right thing playing at 2nl and just seeing where you’re at.

Thanks for the suggestion everyone. Will put more time in studying than playing.

Hey bud. When I first started out, I lost my first 3 deposits playing 5nl over a couple months, I feel your pain. Don't give up quite yet, it takes time. There are a lot of people who will help you out in the community, check out Johnathan Little and Carrot Corner on YouTube, they have free lessons, that I think are quite good and helped me out a lot in the beginning. I noticed your redline is high, most the guys at 2 and 5nl will literally call you down to a showdown with any draw or top pair and end up getting there with all sorts of crazy stuff they shouldn't have, you might want to think about playing a more blueline approach at these micros, especially starting out. I've never played in 2nl myself, but most of the winning graphs from 2nl crushers (only a few out there over a big sample to be honest) I've seen have a very negative red line. I attached a screenshot one a guy posted on reddit I seen awhile back, so you can see how high of a win-rate he was able to achieve, just value betting strong hands.

For me personally, 4-tabling Zoom is too much. I would suggest maximum 2 tables, or move to regular tables were players on GG are considerably worse IMO. I've played a lot of 2nl rush on gg and beat about 10bb/100 but also had long break-even periods.. rake is high.. one tip I would give is 3bet very tight/ linear from blinds especially sb.. which is counter to a lot of advice people give for micros but it really works for me to not bloat pots pre-flop from the blinds. I also have success flatting pocket pairs 66+ from sb which I think generally considered not good to do.

4 tabling zoom as a losing 2nl player is insane. Play 2 regular tables and actually think through your hands, then when you're getting bored to tears and winning 10bb/100 go to 4 tables.

Rake is insane, you might not be as bad as you think.
