So I visited my parents at home last weekend and decided to play some Online Poker on my parents' PC. I downloaded Bodog on the computer and logged in and played some small stakes NL for a few hours. I slept at my parents' house than night and spent some time with my parents for the next day and didn't think twice about the poker.

That is until Monday evening when I logged in from my computer at my own apartment to play a little. I was shocked to see the account completely empty. At the end of my last session at my parents' house, I had $2,270.81 in my account and about 4000 poker points. Now, there was $0.00 and 10 poker points.

I quickly checked the Cashier to see if there were any recent cashouts that I had not made. None.

I then checked my eCash statement. There were several poker table buy ins from Sunday evening (the night I had left my parents house) that I had not made. Also, there were several pokerpoints to eCash exchanges I had not made.

So I asked my roommate some questions but I knew it could not have been him because A) he was also out of town for the weekend and did not get home until after me and B) he does not even play poker.

Next I called my parents. I talked to my dad and he adamantly denied knowing anything. In fact, he got downright angry anytime I even came close to asking him if he knew anything about what had happened.

That is until I told him to forget about it, I could just talk to customer support at Bodog and figure out where the hacker had played at through IP addresses.

At this point, he got audibly nervous and began stammering apologies.

Apparently after I had left on Sunday, he had gotten extremely drunk (he is an alcoholic, BTW, and my mother and I have been trying to get him to sober up for years) and gotten on the computer. He noticed the Bodog Poker application and clicked it.

Apparently, the "Remember Password?" option was clicked, as well as the "Remember Account?" option though I'm not sure whether this is true, as I expressly remember unclicking those options. (I believe he might have drunkenly hacked into my email as well to get these). Anway, he said he started playing 1/2 NL and lost two buy-ins rather quickly (not surprising. My father played online poker back in the Golden Age and was probably most of the reason the games were so juicy back then), then realized I would notice the missing money. Apparently he took drunken shots at 1000 NL until my account was empty. Then he converted my pps to cash (only about $40, btw) and tried to run that up to my previous balance. Obv. he failed.

I know for a fact that my parents are in somewhat hard times financially right now and I have no doubt that they WILL NOT be able to pay me back soon. Also, I feel kind of guilty asking for the money back considering how much they have done for me and how much they have forgiven of me (they helped pay for my college last year and I failed out because I was playing poker all hours of the day and missing almost all of my classes).

This is probably the most ****ed up situation I've ever encountered and I have no idea how to deal with it...

Seriously, I left a poker site with auto-sign-in once long ago and was surprised to see my roll gone when i signed back in. After considerable discussion with the poker site it was revealed that my daughter had signed in and drained my account. What could I do? Take my 10 y/o daughter to court?

Your dad has to live with himself and his actions. You never know, one day he might reimburse you, but searching for a resolution to this is pointless and will only serve to harbour resentment from you. Chalk it up to a hard lesson in life and move on. I know it sux.
