my family doesnt like me to gamble, but i snuck and gambled some on slots, won a few $1500 up to $2000 wins this past year and got a few tax forms. Now im scared my spouse will def find out and might be upset. What i dont understand is how can they tax you on wins that you used money i work for already paid taxes on and its not like a real huge jackpot for gods sake it a quarter of what i put in or around that i got back this year as i think im down about $20000 and have 6k in W2. Wish Can i tax them for my losses too haha. I hate casinos now they take and take and then give a little $2000 on a $50 a spin game and a steak dinner woo hooo i dont care about that give me a quarter of dank at least or some Hennesey to sip on big hitter. Then they want you to tip the slot girl, take a picture with a casino instagram which i did too with my $1500 win on the $10 slot, and all this, F U casino, EAD, same to these online sites, if i lose i have way to just get money back anyhow from them online just charge it back lol but not live lol

Taxes are a legitimate concern for everyone. I'm glad you are taking them seriously.

The government likes money and wants to take it away from degenerates. I guess it is suppose to encourage people not to gamble. Taxes were the final straw that made me quit pursuing a poker career.

Your wife is going to find out dude. Better for you to tell her first than letting her find out on her own. If you won this money a long time ago it would be better to pretend it is more recent. Just go to the casino tomorrow and pretend that you won that day when you come home. That way it wont seem like you were keeping something a secret for a long time. She may not be so upset when she sees how much extra money you've won. Maybe not though, I don't know your wife.

Uh oh. You're in the dog house. Hopefully it will pass with time. Cater to her emotional needs in the mean time.
