I don't know what this means.

TBH I'm not quite sure what this means either. I guess its bad bankroll management to be too nitty or whatever, there's nothing inherently wrong with putting a small amount of money on a website and losing it though AFAIK.
I agree that it can be ok and even fun to deposit a nominal amount and just see what happens. As for proper BRM and/or getting over this fear of losing your profits I'd suggest two things.
One, work on the mental game. I think one thing that really always I struggled with online vs live is that live we leave each session with a tangible proof of how we did (I.e. chips and cash from the cage), but online we keep it online and so it can feel a bit like we never quite "lock in" the profit because it's not in hand after a session. And accepting that we will lose hours of hard work in one hand quite often online.
Two. If it makes you feels better, keep a "roll" offline in like an interest bearing checking/savings account and deposit periodically (but keep tabs on what that total roll amount is for BRM). Bonus is you can take advantage of reload bonuses more, you can earn interest on your roll, and if the site goes poof or there's banking issues you have some of it offline. But on a site ignition with it's high deposit fees, you might be better off depositing 15-20 buy ins for the level you wanna play and keep them on there and keep some extra offline.
