All it takes is one slight cut on your foot from something on the pavement or whatever and you are screwed. Blisters will be a huge problem. I personally don't think it will be done unless you have walked barefoot for many many years or do some real serious training. And as you said you are not an athlete.
Your feet will be gone after the first day and it will probably be hard to stand on day 2 or day 3.

Good Luck, but you should ask for some seriously large odds.

People used to do this walk pretty regularly when I was in the Army, although most the people I knew did it for 50 KM per day with a ruck.

In your case it's not really the distance that's going to kill you, it's the barefoot thing. You need to toughen the hell out of your feet or you're going to be a whimpering mess. My one friend who did it (who was in decent shape ldo, didn't really do any special prep but obviously had done long marches with rucks before, just never four straight days) was wearing well broken in boots and her feet were a mess when she was done.

General advice if you're going to do this include wearing well fitting layers, use vaseline on any areas that are chafing, learn to properly care for blisters (drain them but leave the skin intact), and prepare for a **** ton of pain regardless.

Honestly if you insist on doing this barefoot I wouldn't give you great odds. No better than 5-1, 10-1 or worse if you didn't do significant training. The odds of ****ing up your foot on the roads are just too high unless you've been doing barefoot training for a pretty long time, IMO.

I walked the march 2 years ago and ur never gonna make it (pessimist!)
Since ur overweight it's even harder to do.

Im in for 6:1 and even consider to walk next to you for the heck of it

Do you live in Nijmegen or...?

Training will be the hardest part. If you take it seriously, and get through the pain you will be fine. Your feet will develop calluses, and after those clear up (or you shave them) your skin will come back tougher and more resilient. Its getting through that pain a couple times over that you have to worry about. Good luck wearing dress shoes for work the few day after one of your training sessions.

Lol at this comment, i work about 50-60 hours a week and am lazy as ****.
Just weight myself and i am about 102 kilo. Also dont forget what i said in op, me not doing the walk for whatever reason (except not being able to register) results in me failing the challenge and the third week of july is about the hottest time of the year here.

Will start jogging and will go on a diet, pretty pumped to push myself this year.

Step 1: bet a lot of money against OP
Step 2: spread broken glass along the road
Step 3: profit

There is a big difference between running and marching. You use ur muscles and a different way and running is way more easy than marching.

In the summer I rarely wear any shoes when I surf that includes walking round the streets and stuff when it's hot, and after a few months it feels pretty comfy even on rough ground- this challenge is defo a mad one though will be following with interest

OP I think putting up 10K isn't enough profit to cover the cost of foot prosthesis you'd need after winning this.
