Just figured while I wait here for my post poker lumber jack slam at the local Denny's I would write this post and see what you guys think about what I did at the poker table tonight...

1/2 home game.. I buy in for $300 and kick the action off playing 4 handed. As some of the home game regs show up we eventually get a 9 handed game going about 2 hours into the session. After about 5 hours of playing I get my stack up to about $1400 (brag). I win a 300+ pot of a guy with 87S. I turned the nut strait, but he folded to my river jam. I also win roughly a $1000 pot getting it in on the turn with 2 pair against a lower two pair. I also made a pretty damn good hero call with 55 for a $340 ish pot. I ended the night at $1700.

I know I ran good. It's not like I made a serious Dwan plays.

Over the night, this hand went down...

UTG Limps... Villain in UTG+1 raises to $20. Folds around to me in the SB and I flat with JJ and the BB flats behind and UTG Limper folds.

$62 in the pot. Flop come 229 rainbow. I decide to lead big at $50. BB folds.

UTG+1 then rips it all in for a total of $300 and I start moaning a little in my mind. However this is precisely the kind of spot I was hoping to get into against this player.

I have dealt to this player on a weekly basis for the last month and have noticed how he always seems to build huge stacks early on by playing like trash and getting lucky and then blowing it all to $0 come 4:30 in the morning. I think I've seen him cash out one time for $500 after dumping a grand into the game. Today he bought in for $100 and ran it up to $800 in no joke about 20 minutes and over the course of an hour be down to $380 and change. Dude has no chill and plays almost every hand come hell or high water.

However his favorite hand is 5,2 and he plays it every time and brags about it. Also I've never really seen him over jam the flop all in and thought that he was doing this was slightly out of character even for him. Usually he just calls down or calls all ins super light.

So I talk for about a minute. Over the course of the minute I say "Ace high no good? and "Do you really have a deuce here?"
I also say "if i call this and pay you off and you have a deuce you have to give me a small free tattoo on my hand?" (He's a tattoo artist)

He replies "I will if you throw an extra $100 in the pot."

I decide to call and he says "I have a nine."

I turn over my jacks and the dealer runs out the turn and river... Cancer and AIDS free and I scoop the pot.

The game runner asks him then if wants to rebuy and he says "Actually no, this f****** a****** just angled me and that's not cool. I'm going to take my business elsewhere." He and his girlfriend grabbed their coats and walked out of the joints as he said a few more choice things to me in front of everyone.

He's actually a really nice guy and I like him. I apologized to him as he was leaving and said I never meant to angle him and this is just poker yada ,yada, yada. I feel bad to because I don't want to keep him from coming to the game, not because he is a bad player but he has been a regular at the game for some time and is a PLO player as well. He is always at the PLO nights giving action and those PLO games are harder for the game runners to get off. The last thing I want is for them to lose players...

Was what I said considered an angle? "Ace high no good?" (He didn't say anything in return) not sure if that make this any better.

funny speech play leaves degen feeling outwitted. the spat of 'angle' could be raw spite, but i think there is a question of whether or not it's okay to bring up 'off the table' talk in a hand. versus friends and regs i'd say it's encouraged and would personally find it funny - but it does reek a tad of desperation if being done for a serious read.

You ever watch Antonio Esfandiari when he does the whole moaning thing then says "you know what pow stands for? Pay off wizard." And then flips his chips in there. Thats kinda how it was for me. And no I wasnt doing it for a serious read I was basically saying congrats enjoy my money if you got it. I was making solice with the call I guess lol.

Does the CIA handle this kinda crap? I think my emails aren't of much interest either. Or my browsing history.
I did get pulled over by local PD a month or so ago for wearing headphones, so this seems like a something more fitting for the local po po's. Sheeeeeet.
