Anyone any tips for sleeping better?

I literally only sleep 30-40 hours per week on average
08-09-2012 , 09:12 PM
I use natural non-addictive sleeping pills once or twice per week when I feel like I should go to sleep but my body dont really want to. I do this because otherwise I get a pretty ****ed up sleeping schedule

I know that going from the computer straight up to bed isnt very good for sleep esp if youre doing something like playing poker/video game.

I thought about pills but they are defo last resort, even when I do get to sleep as soon as I wake up 3-6 hours later even if I'm bat **** tired I can't sleep again

Think I may have to try pills!

benzodiazepines like themazepam, lorazepam, diazepam (valium) are good stuff in my opinion (would recommend t(h)emazepam)... but just getting some physical exercise during the day and not sit behind a screen about an hour before you go to bed should already make a lot of difference. gl.

People take valium here at the weekend when drinking, never understood why it seems like a pointless thing to do

it a) interacts with alcohol since they're both sedatives, you get drunk faster
b) it has a buzzy feeling itself, and if you manage not to fall asleep (by using a stimulant or I dunno drink alcohol smoke and go out) it's actually quite pleasant.

Think its the only thing I haven't took

Probs end up hooked

benzo's are definitely very addictive..
in the netherlands you can just go to your doctor and say you have trouble falling asleep and he will prescribe them, I'd assume it's the same across the north sea.. I'd try them out just for the experience, but if you don't really need them don't use them too often

if you say that to a doctor in Canada they usually give you lorazepam. I had that prob bout 5 years ago. He told me to take it once a day in the evening. I got filthy addicted to them by accident and I didnt even know I was until I finished the bottle.. and it was hell to get off em.

Exact reason I don't want to start, I already have a few "vices" as there called, I'm doomed to an eternity of no sleep

lorazepam is the softest of the benzodiazepines I believe, what dosage did you take and for how long? I've taken lorazepam, temazepam, diazepam and oxazepam (listed from weak to strong) and never really experienced withdrawal symptoms, just an urge to use them again because it feels good, what did you experience when you suddenly found out your bottle was empty?

btw just read you sleep 30-40 hours a week, thats an average of ~5 hours a day, that amount by itself should be enough.. but if you're not rested when you wake up it's not a given that more sleep will help that, it could be you're missing something essential in your diet for example, or sleeping enough, but not deep enough..
08-09-2012 , 10:05 PM
A glass of scotch and 10mgs of melatonin should do the trick. And less computer before bed, try reading a book right before you go to sleep.

I have had similar problems in the past and these tactics have always worked for me.

I'll probs just go the doctor and see what he has to say

My diet actually seems OK, I don't put insane thought into it but I eat at the right times and aren't a huge fan of things like sweets or chocolate

I really cant remember the dosage but they got me a nice lil buzz. I think he prescribed me 30 pills so after 30 days of taking them it was awful. I just figured **** it I dont need anymore of this ****. I started getting really itchy (not fleas either you ****ers) and tingly after a day or two of not having any..it was impossible to sleep and it felt like my head was going to split open. I couldnt take it so I went to the doctors and he asked me why in the **** would I just stop taking them and how I should start by taking half a one instead of a full one.

I imagine it wasnt some little pussy dosage to have that effect. I told him I had sleep problems and was feeling anxious a lot so I dunno.

So he gave me some more and I took half ones....down to quarter pieces...until I had one half one left and it was the end of the prescription. I was terrified to take the last one so I carried it around with me to make me feel secure and not like I was going to die. I seriously felt the entire time I was going to stroke out. I was like 22 and not fat or anything but the pills wrecked my head. And believe it or not it took me months to get back to normal. Ill never take that **** again.

Some people are way more sensitive to drugs than others so maybe thats why you;re okay

MASSIVE TLDR

What license?

Europe is not a country.
