I think when that river card falls, you need to fold. Everything else just got there.

All the chips went in pre-flop. Is that not clear here?

Fold preflop.. hand is no good when 2 other people have already gone all in.

The K is a really bad river imo. Brings 4 to a straight and flush. Doubt a set is good in this spot ever especially 3 ways.

Unless the players are known to bluff big on scary rivers, just fold river and wait for a better spot.

you went all-in with just a pair and lost to a straight and a flush. that is the thing about playing with a pair. sometimes when you improve to trips your hand is still no good!

Honestly, most of the issues with this hand could be cleared up by using the hand converter. That way we would actually read it and not just skip over to the part where you lost.

Your real mistake was only having 2248 chips. I know that's a "Captain Obvious" thing to say but it's still true. Why didn't you have more? It's best to always have the biggest stack at the table in any situation but especially in KO tournaments. You should always cover all of your opponents so you don't get knocked out and also get bounties. So work on that.

This.

Too many players pot committed. Fold and wait for a better spot.

A freezeout. Knockout. Aces in the hole. Short stack shoves preflop and a big stack calls pretty much to isolate for the bounty all preflop. When is a better spot to call with pocket aces??

There are plenty of better spots. The chances of getting your aces cracked are too large multiway. Gotta think about it from an intelligent standpoint

Sure, lets think about it intelligently...

Preflop, hero was 43% favored to win. Short stake was shoving with a very wide array of hands and covered. Assume the loss, that leaves 1500+ with AA to go against other opponent in a heads up for the 3000 chips. The blinds are nowhere near the money so tourney odds/placement/bubble is not a factor.

Another way of seeing it, you have 1500 chips and someone shoves into you preflop early in a tournament. There is no reason to fold.

Please intelligently explain the reasoning to fold aces preflop heads up in this situation.

The board is too dangerous to be playing AA.

Stuff happens dude. Other day on ACR, I 4bet a player with KK (cash game). He flatted the 4bet with QJs (note we were only 100bb deep). Flop was Ks9dTs, so he flopped the nuts with an open ended straight flush draw. Of course we were both allin on the flop. 9 of spades on the turn giving me a full house, but him a straight flush.

I then berate him in chat and proceed to come up 3 buyins.

You should definately fold pre because a guy who calls himself 'sighiquit' would be unlikely to be bluffing because they obviously made the name on sign up when their interest in poker was first piqued. Therefore they want you to think subconsciously that they are tilted and just want to bust out when they actually have a hand that crushes AA and can trap you.

That being said there is also the probability that a player with that could just be a withered ex reg who is going through the death throes of his career before moving down to zynga poker where nobody has access to holdem manager, a hud and software wizards programming the next HAL9000 capable of a quadrillion petaflops per second using the latest quantam technology to be able to beat the game any more. You should still fold river anyway though because even that dullard knows he has you beat.

It's literally in the OP, did you not see it?
This was just a bad play on OP's part.

The part where all the chips were PREFLOP

So you are saying he should have folded AA preflop where he was basically all in heads up??? I really love to understand the logic behind folding aces preflop there. There is none, but I'm interested in hearing the explanation.

Dude there's 4 to a straight and three to a flush on board and you're suggesting he should put in his whole stack on AA? You're crazy man.
