Recently moved up stakes to 50nl and 100nl (thanks to a 3rd place tournament finish, yay
) and getting my first taste of playing with "semi decent" players. Was doing fantastic at first--I mean, I was running really really well at the time of the tournament.
Then, all of the sudden, bad variance hit me like a wall. I had about an 8 buy in swing, making a pretty decent dent in my BR. I played a 6 hour session today and make $214 back, so it does seem like I can play in these stakes profitably. Bovada/Ignition is still extremely soft (but I do miss the sportsbettors..).
Got hit with 3 set/set, got Ks cracked on the turn after 2/3 the money was in, and played between a Lag/agrodonk for several hours. Agrodonk was playing okay, but got tilted and started open jamming 100BB. He cracked As with J7s, hit a set of 6s vs AK, etc. I finally had a perfect spot to call him off ($135, for a $270 pot) with Qs and he hit a set of 2s on the flop, so that was pretty dumb. Also, a fish turned a set of 10s vs my flop set (all money was in for a $150 pot), so that was great too.
Anyway, after what seemed like days of poop, I won a major pot that totally changed my mood. Got it in on the turn 3-way vs a double gutter (str8/flush, right? What else is it called) and an OOESD in a 3bet pot with QJ T2P. $488.
Not posting my chart, but pretty darn proud of my stack sizes after the fact. What do you guys think? It sucks butt running as bad as I have, but I hesitate to complain
