Fairly small PLO Player pool has young Player opening/3b every hand .. constantly short-buying and trying to run it up! Both 'not' OMC and YWS have run it up a bit this session .. and then clashed here.

NOMC in BB, YWS straddles UTG for 15 .. (per usual) 4 limpers and YWS min-raises to 30 .. 4 to the Flop (150 pot)

NOMC checks .. YWS bets $80 .. fold, fold, NOMC tanks .. YWS says "Why you always calling me down old man?" .. NOMC smiles and calls (310 pot)

Turn .. 6
NOMC checks .. YWS does the traditional "How much is pot?" and then bets $175 .. NOMC tanks .. YWS says "I'm coming, better let me have this one" .. NOMC smiles and calls ($660 pot)

River .. A
NOMC checks again .. YWS checks stacks, pauses, then "Here's the rest, all I've got" betting over $500 all-in

NOMC tanks, fiddles with chips then asks "How much?" .. Tablemate says "He's got you covered" NOMC gets a little irritated and says "I'm trying to be a Drama Queen here." before pausing a bit more.

NOMC 'finally' turns over his hand .. YWS says "Is that a call?" .. NOMC says "Yes, I think I better call" and puts out one chip.

The verbiage and the 'smile' are standard for these two no matter what their holdings are .. the fact that the Board was paired had little influence on NOMC continuing the Flop based on history of YWS. NOMC is 'trapped' after making a straight on the Turn .. and of course, the River changes it all. He possible considers folding to a 3-barrel on River, but any boat and probably any heart on the River produces a call.

PLO is outside of my wheelhouse, played it a bit, but there is something fundamental about it I just don't get. However, I see people who cash out of the 10/25 PLO game with enough money to trigger the IRS paperwork, so ...

I think both players made some mistakes in this hand. The biggest mistake is that YWS should have check folded that river. Pretty obvious the straight flush got there.

So you only needed a sf to show the young guy. Easy game

YWS was in position, being UTG. So NOMC checked the River with the nuts and YWS went for 'value' as he would with 90% of his bet-bet lines.

Although not impossible, it's very unlikely that a PLO Player would fold to NOMC's River shove had it occurred holding quads. And certainly the way 'our' games are played I've seen as weak as Jack-high flushes call down in these spots with the right V dynamics. Certainly not saying that it should be standard practice, but YWS's line very easily could've just been AA with 'whatever' flush draw .. meaning that NOMC was ahead on the Turn with a straight and hit yahtzee on the River.
