Is this a normal variance? Is this a normal variance?

I have started playing NL 20 on 888 and I reached almost $700 in 16k hands. Suddenly I started a terrible downswing and I lost half of it in 26k hands. I want to know if this is normal in cash games. How can I play very well in the beginning and suck later on?

Exactly as is with the girls. They play very well at the beginning saying that they don’t suck but starts to suck later on.

Oh all righhhht. Head over to the small stakes NLHE subforum, they will give you an estimate of variance to expect.

And pay your taxes.

Not normal variance. A 17 BI downswing is right on the max in any standard deviation chart(by a factor of 3.5x !!!!). Downswing is statistically comming to an end (muphy's law) right about now. If I were you, I would move up to 100 NL and be quite confident to win back the 17BIs ($1700 before taxes). Just simple maths.

Just for clarification, how much did you pay in taxes? If you didnt file with a +ev consultant then the results will affect your winrate.
