Nice fish. Sling and/or polespear is a great way to learn. That or a small gun. I don't feel spearguns are cheating, though. Some fish require a lineshaft. White Seabass it will be impossible to sling or polespear unless you have a trailline on the polespear and a breakaway tip. Otherwise you'll just lose the fish without a stone shot. If a friend were just getting into spearing I would recommend using a small gun(40 inches) to learn how to approach fish anyway. Then they can learn the basics and the most important part: how to approach fish, but in the Bahamas that's all you can use anyway. Grey? Is that the same as "Sheepshead?" My friend has the world record.

That's a grey snapper. They swim and act similarly to muttons. Sheepshead are smaller and striped.

I have considered dropping in on a weedline to try and shoot a dolphin, but I've seen too many tunas eaten at the back of the boat by Tigers to find it too appealing.

I want to try a gun sometime, but they are illegal in teh Bahamas and I don't like diving in the murky water in Florida. Where did u shoot that hog in the video?

Hey jsnipes, Hogfish was shot in Mexico (Cortez side). It's different than the hogs in FL, more similar to California Sheepshead.
I guess Gray snapper is the same as Mutton? It's listed as "Gray Snapper/Mutton Snapper" on the IUSA website.

Looks different than yours though. This guy is a badass diver, this is the 21st century WR. 14 lber. We went to Cabo to shoot giant fish, pix and home video with cabo girls and tourists.

Here's my early 7/9 stats. Just 1 table so far. May open some more after I do some business. Today's Sunday, Going to see if I can get my hands on Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one) and midweek watch Pirates 2. Going to try to become more pokertracker-knowledgeable today/tomorrow while learning more about the Stock Market. Going to make some Fish tacos

Ok. I opened some more tables. PF RAISE percentage higher heads up than full. Left my 100nl with 450 or so. Lost one buy in somewhere in the beginning. Saw a guy with 50 bucks at a nl200, sat with 100, he was sitting out, another guy joins and buys 200. I get up to 110 and lose.
Made the right play but the river saved him. Hand is included below. Rebought full, destroyed him and the table filled up 15 min later. Taking a break now, probably going to do something. Here's my 7/9 stats, an hour or two later after my original post.

I think he meant dolphin fish. Not a real dolphin. Real dolphins are so smart they will instantly [censored] you. They are the only other animals known to man that rape for pleasure. Dolphin FISH on the other hand are "Mahi Mahi". In Cabo San Lucas 4 years ago I caught one along with a Marlin. It's kind of boring fishing(rod and reel) for big fish (UNTIL you're actually "FISH ON"). You "troll," or drive around the ocean in zig zagged patterns waiting for something to eat your bait. Whereas spearfishing you go to the ledges, drop offs (usually deep spots that come up shallow very quick, like pinnacles) and find structure because this is where small fish congregate. And where big fish come to feed.

It's light outside. My sleep schedule is messed up. I didn't play any more, I watched MTV's Pimp My Ride and wanted to fix up my car. Someone damaged my mirror by opening their door into it in a parking garage while at school. The motor that controls the mirror from the inside got damaged, too. Cost 1k for repairs and 15,000 mile tuneup.

I don't think anyone should go broke if you play your limits. I would much rather buy another monitor and play more tables lower limit than move up. But for now I just have one flatscreen 17" that is a nice size that my parents got for me last year.
Not sure why I don't really want to move up yet fulltime, I'm having too much fun.

But, Needless to say, I did get curious as I said and played some 2000 HU. Then one person joined, won some money off my opponent, and the HU match continued. I forget what happened at the 600 table. I won a little bit.

Played HU for about an hour. Maybe less, I wasn't really keeping track. My friend wanted to watch me play 2k so I played; won a little bit.



I'm working at increasing my BB/100 and more importantly, my ROLL by playing more heads up. When I was playing fulltilt I was doing the 100.00 HU tourneys and went 9-2. I think i'm solid. We'll see if I play any more today, I want some fish for dinner. I think I'm going to go spearfishing right now.

Anyway, I'm back from shooting fish. Some nice ones. Nothing close to the World Record but still a respectable fish. a 12 inch 1-1.5 pound Calico Bass is 7-10 years old (they grow ****ing slow). The 7 pounder I shot is older around 30-40.

Here's a picture of my big Calico Bass from this morning. I shot the ****er and he went in a hole and it was a summmab!tch trying to get him out. Took me 5 dives. I bought these 600.00 fins and the guy from Estonia who sells it hooked it up, customs, shipping, and everything for under 300.00 since I shoot lots of fish and help them out. But they are for deep freediving, ideal for 100+ feet.

This morning I was diving no deeper than 30ft. The blades were too hard for shallow diving. VERY VERY tiring kicking these blades on the surface. I may just need to buy another pair of softer blades.

Spearfishing woke me up. Was Butt-tired. I am debating whether I'm going to stay up all day and get my sleep and workout schedule back on track, or sleep now and play later... hmmm.

Do you keep all of your fish on a string with you while you are diving? That seems like a recipe for disaster...I don't know how the sharks are there, but I would never swim with a couple of dead fishies following me around. Hell, I usually move spots after shooting 2-3 fish.

We caught one of these babies about 30 miles out the other weekend. Not much of a fight, but a f'n beautiful fish.

Yes, I keep the fish on my stringer. Just brain them quickly so the sharks don't come around. Shoot, stab them in the brain, and string them. There's Great White Sharks around, so you gotta work quick.

Good Question. You Can, Sure. But what's in it for me? I'd rather keep you in suspense. If I show my DB then all element of doubt will be erased. People would no longer sling ugly names and insults. BTW, if it's any consolation, I've been 100% honest and posted the sessions. Hopefully one day it will become a place for me to look back and say, dam! Only 17BB/100 ??? I want that day to come soon but whatever happens, happens.

(How did I come up with exact numbers?) I have PT on my laptop and my desktop. I used to play at school in the library between classes and make a couple hundred each day; but my curve has gone up a bit since then. I would just play whatever game I felt like. 100, 200, 400, 600, 1000. Wasn't the smartest way to play but it worked. Break was about 50 minutes long for my class schedule so I had to make money quick then get my mind off poker and pay attention.
