An actual response that NONE of you have given. 5-6 is a very good BB/100, but 2=4 is probably the range of most long-term winners. Correct me if I'm wrong, other regulars.
not even close what are you talking about?

No one is stating the obvious -- BB/100 doesn't mean ANYTHING over that # of hands.

You're having a good run. Enjoy it and don't worry about BB/100 until you're looking at long-term play.

Thanks for the advice. Still going decent today. I took a break I only played about an hour or 2. I like green tea.

A team of internet poker professionals held a conference in the badlands a few months ago.

Very few details of this have ever leaked out but I can reveal the fact they came up with 17.37PTBB/100 as an "average" winrate for players with very tiny samples.

So unfortunately you are below average, perhaps play another 5 hands to see if that helps.

Don't listen to the haters ez. You're obviously playing very well and obviously doing well. People who talk about "sample size" are mostly slightly winning uncreative players who think they've got poker figured out. The only thing that matters at the end of the year is how many dollars you've won, not how often you defended a blind steal.

50 is a lot better, that's actually a really good winrate.

Why do you still have a job?

Hi Tom10167, I am a student and my (side) job is one of my hobbies: spearfishing. I own 50% of the business and import spearguns from South Africa. It doesn't feel like a job because of the rewards: customers calling to tell me about their trips, the great service, and the quality of the products. I don't like it when people sell me JUNK so I make sure we stock only the highest quality goods.

For poker, I make money so I can do a few things: eat well, go on trips (spearfishing, to mexico, hawaii, florida, etc) and have money for entertainment. But I hate losing money, so right now I'm trying to see if I can discipline myself.

Chuck D, I may do that soon. I'm trying to pad my bankroll, I just don't like the idea of losing buy ins, right now I can handle a few bad beats at 200. I might go ape ***** if it's at higher limit, losing a couple grand. But then again the prospect of winning more is also there.

Played a few hours this morning (2am-4am)
So these are my stats from 6/27-6/28. I don't play that many hours a day. Maybe 4-5 sometimes 2 table.. sometimes 4 table. Really just depends if I think I can make money. But I lead a balanced life and I think that's more important than $: Working out, academics, Girls, hobbies, etc.

I'm really frugal, though, wanted to get a much needed new phone today since my old one's CHARGER is lost. This particular charger is no longer sold and I didn't want to buy a $30.00 phone that I didn't like, so I opted for no phone instead for another day. Going to Vegas on Thursday probably not to play too much. Just to party..See you guys on the tables, thanks for the continued advice. Still spending time trying to figure out all the functions of pokertracker.

Hey guys, Yes I can teach you how to spearfish. It just takes breath-hold(you can do it on scuba, some swimming abilities, and desire to learn. I do everything FREEDIVING. So average depths and dives range up to 100 feet and 2-3 minute dives. Off the shore the deepest gets around 50 feet. Halibut can be found in as shallow as 5 feet. But you can get a lot of fish with a solid 1 minute dynamic (underwater, moving/swimming) breathhold.

Like Poker, you need to find the fish, have the right conditions, etc and you can score.

Here is a VIDEO of some FISH I SHOT while holding the camera in my left hand and my speargun in the right. It's like real-life counterstrike.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UQVS6f8PvE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAPOj5PI6EM

Two different videos.

You ideally want to hit the fish in the BRAIN, the gill plate, or the spine. If you hit the brain they are almost instantly dead (You can see this in the second video). In the first video I get right through the neck and it dies as well. If you hit in the body, usually you will have a good fight, especially if the fish is over 20 pounds. A bad shot can cause danger to the diver as a 20# fish is quite strong when you consider that it is swimming and going wild.

It's really fun, it's kind of like poker, a never ending addiction. For instance. Say you hit 100 $ playing 1/2 nl in a day. Your next goal is to make 200. Then when you hit 200 you're not satisfied...so you want to make 300

and so on and so forth. The same goes with spearfishing since you want to get bigger fish.

Let's see if this works:

Some Fish taken with the spearguns I sell.

Halibut.

I was in vegas these past couple days. I didn't play much poker. I did bring my laptop, made 1000.00 when I got back to the hotel (damned 20.00 for Internet...)

Here's my stats for this morning. Maybe an hour and half since I got back.
