Ok. So I was playing great poker the whole night. I was forcing the issue a lot. I never limped. I played big pots. And most players on the table indicated they would prefer to avoid playing a hand with me.

I was up 4 buy-ins. Then...I got hungry at the table. And this is where it gets sooooo stupid I want to kick myself in the face. I didn't order food. Why? I don't know. I was too lazy? WTF? I know. All I had to do was tell the waitress.

Btw, I didn't realize I was hungry until it's too late. Plus somebody 2-outed me on the river. So I was on tilt + hungry.

Then, I was trying to outplay this stupid guy to my right. He's a freaking nit. He didn't play **** except the nuts. And I didn't like how his face looked

So seriously, these were the 2 hands I tried to outplayed him while I was on tilt and hungry:

Game is 1-3NL, everybody limps to:
Late position Villain (me on tilt + hungry) $1000. I looked down. I saw AJ
I limp too. I don't know why. I've been raising all night long. I guess, mixing my play, tilt, hungry, autopilot mode, whatever.

Hero SB(the ugly guy I hate) $200. Raises to $20

everybody folds, Villain call, heads up to the flop:

Hero bets: $50
Villain raises all in for $130 more.

Hero called. Showed 88

I was dead on the turn. Lost $200

Then -- again, the nit raises from early position this time:
Hero (the ugly nit guy) $500 raises to $20

folds to me:
Villain button $800 with J9 and call because I don't like you and I have the button and I can bust you if I hit my flop type of thinking.

Flop Q48

Hero bets $30

Now, I'm thinking, I HAVE to raise here. Either free card, check/fold or 3 barrel.

So I raise $75, he quickly calls. Turn brings a 3 for
Q483

Hero checks to me. I autopilot bet $150. He quickly calls again.
River was a 6
The board now reads Q4836

I missed my straight and flush. Hero checks. I bet $200, he called he showed AQ

for top pair top kicker.

I lost $600 in 2 hands with this nit. Damn it hurts. I cashed out for 1 buyin profit and now I want to eat.

2nd hand hes not calling the turn with nothing and hes not raising with nothing pre flop. He obviously already has a pair or bwh.. your behind. Youre definitely getting called on the river to a $200 bet if he called a $150 bet on the turn. Hes not putting half of his stack in there with nothing. He only has $225 left when he started the hand with $500. Your hand has no showdown value and no fold equity.

I always used to try and win every pot when I first started playing. Always bluffing rivers... I couldn't think of a time when I wanted to be called lol

Looks like you need to start evaluating hands more post flop. Narrow ranges down, maximise profit when you have the best hand and minimise when you have the worst hand.

P.s if youre playing aggressive opening a lot of hands a tight player is going to trap you 99.9% of the time.

I play better when I'm hungry because it motivates me to make money for food/hookers/blow. Mostly hookers and blow though.
