Somewhat different poker story - extremely well told!

It's the occasional gems such as this thread that make up for having to wade through all the dross and crass comments that clutter up the day to day stuff.

Keep it coming pls! Subscribed and rated 5stars.

Btw I went back and partly sorted your problem hh for the replayer. It was the least I could do having been kept entertained by the story so far.
Let me know if there are any others need editing.

I was going to get to this in the next vol although I could've mentioned it before... I was about to move on my own, I was househunting at the exact moment my grandma fell sick. My mom quit her job and moved 500 miles north to be with her. We aren't rich and it's a rent house we lived in (and where my mom still lives in), so I offered to rent it for myself for the time when she was gone (she'd either get better in a year or then, well, pass away .) It'd make no sense to rent another place and then have my mom pay rent for an empty house, even that I really didn't want to live in my childhood home anymore. So I ended up staying for that entire year. My mom moved back to the house in the end of summer 09 (she stayed in the north doing funeral stuff etc for some time after my grandma passed away) and I was looking for houses again. But then we ended up moving to Thailand with my gf, E and his gf before I found a place, which forms most of the next volume.

I got money for everything from playing poker, I think despite all gambling I still made over 5k/month during 2009 for most months. I just didn't save any because I spent it all on stupid **** like random flights, getting drunk etc.

CB,

Excellent thread. I haven't read it all, but when I find the time I sit down and go through a post or two sporadically. A few thoughts.

1. Your writing is quality. It's especially impressive for someone who's not a native English speaker.

2. While you may not be into the whole "sleeping with randoms" thing, if it ever piques your interest I think you'd be rather talented at it. Picking up women is essentially all about what and how you communicate, which comes pretty natural to writers.

3. Learn to love your haters. Seriously. Understand and accept that with success in any field comes with it's share of hate. Most haters are people just looking for an excuse to let it out on someone. Rarely have they ever even met you or have a legitimate reason to despise you, and it says more about their personality than it does yours. The best reaction is no reaction, because doing anything else gives them fuel for the fire. Let people say what they want, and so long as it's not a highly public and damaging statement, don't even bother refuting anything they say. Do nothing in response to them.

I say learn to love your haters because they're actually helping you. They're an indication that you're doing something right, because you're making them feel something. They're putting your name out there at probably 10 times the rate any of your supporters are. Intelligent people will come to their own conclusions about your work, even if they're linked to it by someone who resents you.

Naturally, be mindful of a genuine critic; someone who's thoughtful and articulate that finds reason to dislike you or something you've done. Give these people consideration, because they're often trying to make a point beyond spewing a hateful "**** THIS GUY!!!" You're a smart enough dude to tell the difference between the two.

4. Holy **** that story about the girl you made the prop bet about is unreal. What a disaster. However, I promise that if you haven't gotten there yet, one day you'll be laughing your ass off about it.

Keep grinding homie.

Bond18,

I secretly hoped you'd run into this at some point. I've been a huuuuuuge fan of your writing ever since I found your blog in late 2009. The last volume will be very much about finally finding my place as an mtt player, thanks to your articles and videos.

Search the thread. OP's name is outed several times. He said he's not posting it to keep it lower on google in reponse to his name in order to (IIRC) not freeroll Tower with publicity. First name is Miikka.

It has nothing to do with publicity freerolling for Tower, I'll be more than glad if people find out what a pos company they are. I just don't want this thread to pop up first when you google search my name for obvious reasons. If you're interested in my name, search for one of my marketplace threads where I sell action, I always mention my name there.

My bad, I was thinking of this IRT the publicity freeroll comment:
Quote:
I haven't posted a link to my old PS blog because first of all it's awfully written and I just did it because I had to (it was a part of my PS deal to blog and I didn't have the time and energy and motivation to blog in both english and finnish), and also because I'm pretty tilted at them right now for reasons I'd rather not discuss so I don't want to give them any publicity freerolls.
Wrong company and wrong memory of what wasn't being posted.
