I was going to edit after realising they were the S2's but I left it too long. Even more reason why it would be a criminal offence to have them on your desktop
Great choice man. FWIW, feeding them a decent signal makes the world of difference. I went from a bog standard m-audio to a Metric Halo (Mac only, but the RME Fireface 800 sounds very similar) and it was like pulling a blanket off them.
Kinda jealous, as I had to sell my P11s
lol, I guess you're gonna love to hear that I have them hooked up with an unbalanced 3 meter xlr to Minijack cable directly to my Creative soundcard...
I only bought them recently. Gonna order probably an RME interface next week. I gotta spread these pricey purchases a bit so it doesn't seem like as much...
When shopping around for interfaces, I'd strongly recommend considering an external unit that has hardware attenuation in it. The last thing you want to do is have the soundcard drivers flip and send your output levels to max while they're hooked up to active monitors that are capable of the kinds of SPLs that those are gonna produce.
Having said that, the RME drivers are very solid, and although the Fireface's use infinite rotaries and digital attenuation, they ought to be fairly reliable.
haha i think i have the worst setup of anybody here
i bought a $3000 chair and a $2000 three-piece wraparound desk, but usually when i want to concentrate i go into the guest room and sit on my 6+ year old $40 chair in front of a $100 wobbly, totally empty ikea desk and grind the **** out on my laptop.
