Not even a hard fold OTR vs an overbet and a 21/17/5 robot.

Conclusion: fold more rivers

This hand was very poorly played.

First off - vs a 21/17 this is a fold pre flop.

2nd off - once you flop this well - his range is capped at pocket pairs which will call a raise - or air - which probably will not continue betting any more. The only way you are getting any more value from this hand is to raise the flop unless he turns gin - which he did.

Turn - considering you butchered the flop by just calling - your turn play has to be a raise. So many scare cards will come which will destroy your ability to get value. Those being any spade / any card that completes a 4 card straight, or possibly any K.

River - unless this guy is a total spew bot i'm not calling an over bet. What did you even put him on? He can't have an ace spade blocker since you have it, he probably isn't going nuts with an over pair - so that leaves one hand he is doing this with - and that is a full house.

After reading this post - look back at how you played the hand and think - Maybe instead of looking at how unlucky I was - think about how poorly you played this hand, and possibly many others.

I like how u put in ~20% of your stack when you were decently ahead, and 80% when you were beat

I know that I look at things like flop equity in hands like this and lament my bad luck but that's poker you have to look at your equity WHEN you get the money in. OTF, well played. By the river you are dead. Not that I could have folded. But I think the game becomes more interesting when you focus on how to approach every street the best rather than how unlikely a certain run out is.
