Got bored of holdem, decided to play PLO.

Good god, players are way worse. In a couple days i doubled my bankroll, it was amazing!

2 days later and i have less than I started the Omaha journey with.

Lost multiple 200 and 300bb+ pots to straight up 1 and 2 outers when i hold the current nuts and all nut draws. Brutal.

I dont think I have the patience to drop stakes and grind NLH again. Probably just go broke and give up online poker. The dream is dead for me. **** is impossible. I havent had any kind of sustained running good or even normal for almost 2 years now with a 6 month break in there.

Are you playing live or online? Every time I play online I end up getting absolutely smoked as well. I expect that when I finally get to play live I'll just end up going bankrupt completely, whether I get badly beat or just punt it off myself.

Both but the live PLO game is only later in the week and weekend. Ive only played live a couple times and won both times. I just played in the holdem game tonight and lost my stack in a coin flip pre w AKs. So it just continues to not be good for me

Thats why you need a big bankroll to play omaha. It’s not like a 20 BI strategy will ever work, in reality it will always fail

You mean i dont get to be one of the lucky people that run average or above average and actually make money getting it in good over and over and eventually move up in stakes?

Someone playing a tight passive strategy can easily run it up with a 20 buyin bankroll. Live players at low stakes PLO are so bad that nut peddling prints.

Yes they are incredibly bad. When i have played live thats exactly what i do and i just fold in the marginal spots like in spots where id push online ill just let it go live because i have so many opportunities to get paid with nut hands

So as i mentioned i am doing very well in the live PLO action.

But i am getting absolutely eaten alive online at Bovada. I am seeing really wacky **** going on and i started looking into it and apparently a lot of people have spoken about these games being bot and collusion infested. The plays I am seeing only can make sense if there is collusion, so its no surprise im losing my ass. I stand zero chance and i am 100% done w playing PLO on there. I have not seen these kinds of things at NLH, so maybe its just because w so many less cards its not as easy or profitable for them to do this.

Examples:

Stuff like people limping along, then backraising, then another flat caller backraising over top, people flatting a raise, flatting 3bet, then suddenly they are jamming and its a 4 or 5 way all in pot and they have straight garbage offsuit disconnected hands that contain all the other aces and kings.

And ive been in countless single raised pots multiway w 2 or more villains where i have a good but not great hand and get squeezed out by check raises and back raises and they show down 1 pair hands or no pair hands or whatever garbage and no nut draws to speak of.

This is not how fish play.

Too bad i blew so much of my bankroll on this bullshit. Not looking forward to this long grind up again. I might be done with online for good after this and just play live. Its just hard bc i work so many hours i have very little time to play live and get in volume.
