You can hurt yourself and other people with a coaster or a blade, and that's hardcore!
Once again I think this is one of the top three posts you've ever made. Amazing.

My AA was beat on the bubble in a hyper-turbo tourney by AK. Am I a bad player for going all in on the bubble or was I just unlucky?

Is this the place to ask that and get support from your peers?

Thanks in advance friends.

Say you believed it but you also had a little doubt that it was true. You might know it to be true but think nah no way can the universe hate me and am going keep playing. But the universe does hate you and is given you bad beats in poker. You would end up with maybe it is maybe it is not and keep on Okayama and all the time the universe is lol at you when you rage at bad beats.

Made another jack high straight flush last night. That's five of that exact hand in a few months of playing once a week. Seems weird. 4-1 on them as one lost ... the other four took down the high hand. Also ran into a jack-high straight flush when I had quad nines during the run. Doo-doo-doo-doo ...

So as I transition out of the game, I'm left scratching my head, ass, and crotch about a couple things.

1. For two decades when holding two pair in my hand I flopped a set exactly one time. This ~ 4/1 shot showed up at less than 1% for twenty years. I started showing them about 10 years ago. Showed twice to neighbor the other night, telling him the 20 year stat. He said, "On a 4/1 shot." I say yup.

2. When holding 10-J-Q-K I make a pair zero percent on total runout. For decades. My last session I shove with it once (was 100 to me I only had 270) ... shove. Runout: A-9-5-4-2. Get it again on button straddle hours later. Three calls for the $10 straddle, I raise. Oddly, all three fold for the quarter raise, so the hand stays right where it uncannily always has: King high.

And if those stats are true, I wonder how and why?

So I flop a set to two pair in the hole the other night, finally again. Bottom set, trip 6s on Q-8-6 flop. Turn pairs 8. Dude is min betting, me just calling. Twice. My hand was A-A-6-6. If there was any justice after the decades long run with two-pair-in-the-hole hands, it would have come an Ace or 6 on river. Nope. Pay it off and move on. One-for-20 years in two pair in the hole flops, since I folded K-K-2-2 pre and would have flopped quad deuces in a huge game. Biggest disappointment of poker career, probably. As a dude that like anomalous stats, the world sure deals me some.

Last time you waited 13 days before garbage-bumping the thread, the time before eight days, and this time it was seven. So: 7 / 13 / 8, or GMH using the very simple code for A=1, B=2, etc.

GMH is, of course, the initials of British poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, among the greatest poets of the Victorian era. One of Hopkins' most renowned poems describes this thread very well:

No Worst, There Is None
No worst, there is none. Pitched past pitch of grief,
More pangs will, schooled at forepangs, wilder wring.
Comforter, where, where is your comforting?
Mary, mother of us, where is your relief?
My cries heave, herds-long; huddle in a main, a chief
Woe, wórld-sorrow; on an áge-old anvil wince and sing —
Then lull, then leave off. Fury had shrieked ‘No ling-
ering! Let me be fell: force I must be brief.”‘
