I was at the gas station picking up an energy drink for my room mate. After I paid for it, I got this strange feeling to put $40 into the video poker machine, which I've never played anywhere but a casino/bar before.

Would you believe I hit a Royal Flush for 8,000 dimes (10 credit bet game, dbl dbl bonus). I was like "HOLY FU*K" half the store came looking over, congratulating me. I asked the guy behind the counter if people win here a lot and he said, "Not that much."

Collected my money and tipped him, then got the hell outta there. I can't win at the casinos, but a gas station --- sure, why not?

I think you're missing the point. I've never played at the gas station before. But I had an odd/lucky feeling and decided to toss in $40.

Did the attendant roll his/her eyes when you asked if “people win here a lot”?

Why play slots at the casino when you don’t have “that lucky feeling”?

You should only play slots when you feel lucky, FYI.

Be honest, how many lottery tickets did you buy with the winnings? My over/under is 100 bucks. Did you make money on these as well?

You should always “let it ride” when you can play “with house money”, FYI.
