I'm in the same boat. I've cut out my daily pint of whiskey, that's 1000 calories, and got on the exercise bike for 2hrs/day. It sucked at first, but I'm feeling a lot better now in the third week.

Huge business, guns in the US. Foreign, private and military sales generate an enormous amount of ready cash for lobbyists and special interest groups to ply our congressmen with. But they're still out there scaring the mouthbreathers:

Even though it's been 7 years and he's done nothing of the sort, he's still going to do it any day now, apparently.

The fun thing is that when you ban something, the good, law abiding citizens of that nation will turn that thing in and be done with it, the criminal element will do no such thing. So, in the case of guns you now have unarmed citizen's and armed criminals. The criminals now know they can rob any good citizens house w/o fear. That apartment building right off that college campus? might as well call that Rape Central. Liquor stores will stop accepting cash altogether (sign on door says "Register contains no cash, go rob somewhere else.")

Everyone gets so worked up about being shot, no one gets worked up about the rape crisis in Australia or that you are as likely to be stabbed in England as shot in America, if the rest of the world could calm the **** down, realize that it is CRIME that needs to be fixed instead of the instrument of the crime, then we as a global society, could maybe make some progress.
