So I'm a regular 5-10 NL player in my game. Have been playing in the same game for like 13 years. Know all of the guys in the game and all that, and I know that I'm well-liked.
Yesterday, I got into 2 specific hands where I was told that I was out of line. Here they are and the ensuing action. Since I'm the bad guy here, I'll be the Villain.
Hand #1:
Hero MP1 raises to 50
Fold to Villain BB who calls
Flop comes 2
3
5
Hero bets 70
Villain calls
Turn comes 7
Hero bets 170
Villain raises to 440
Hero calls
River comes J
Villain leads 510
Hero winces and tanks and calls
Immediately after the call, villain asks, "do you have an overpair? Hero says yes...Villain immediately tables 5
7
At this point, half the table is like, "dude, what's with the slowroll???" Apparently, it's bad for for me to ask what the other guy had. I was asking bc I was wondering if he had an overpair, or if he called with A high bc he thought I was on a busted draw or something.
Hero leave the table for a bit bc he's irritated and then comes back and we are still friends, I guess.
2nd hand:
Again, I'm the Villian.
Hero raises UTG+2 to 50
3 callers
Villain calls from BB
Flop comes J
7
2
Villain leads for 180
Hero calls
Everyone else folds
Turn comes 10
Villain checks
Hero bets 340
Villain goes all in for ~1300
Hero calls and asks to run it twice (2 rivers)
First river is 5
Second river is 3
When the first river hit, I say "Oh look, I hit a 5", knowing I have a flush and immediately table Q
5
Hero shows K
10
and thinks he scoops.
Dealer is confused and everyone realizes that I scoop.
Hero is livid, makes a scene, and goes off. I let him.
Listen, I get it. Table your hand and move forward, but we don't live in a vacuum. I don't know that I was that much of a jerk in these situations, but you guys can let me know.
