Yes Durrr is playing at least 3 levels above your thought process (possibly 4). Trying to explain his strategy to you would be like explaining to a caveman how a rocket ship can fly into outer space. Just like the caveman who marvels at the fire coming out of the rocket ship it's best for you to just watch Durrr in awe and know he is your god.

I am open to the idea that you guys are right, that calling a re-raise with a garbage hand out of position and then folding the best hand on the river somehow fits into an overall winning strategy which I don't understand. That sounds sarcastic maybe, but honestly I am open to the idea.

Hellmuth is going to check any one pair hand 95% of the time there after durrr calls the turn bet. He might even check a set of jacks. He is really only betting the flush or air. His bet when the diamond came on the river gave his bluff away IMO. Hellmuth would, more than likely, take a free card with a high flush draw so his turn bet decreases the chance of a flush. I know durrr is mostly an online player, but I and a lot of guys I play with and beat would have seen that Hellmuth was trying to discourage a call, that he simply did not want to get to showdown. So overall this was a chance for durr to make a great call and he didn't. Maybe in the comfort of his home on the computer he would have. In addition, if he was right, Phil would have really started donating to durrr so there was a clear meta benefit.

I know that a loose aggresive style can actually outclass the tight aggresive style if played correctly. I just want someone to show me why this kid is so good that's all. So far all I have heard is "you just don't understand" and all I have seen are some average and bad plays.

But you know it's prolly just the live vs. online aspect. Not trying to challenge durr being a great online player, but when it comes to live I havn't seen anything.

By the way, PCgarlic, there is no reason to think that a cavemen did not have the capacity to understand how a rocket ship flies.

I find it interesting that we are giving opinions on durr being good or bad based on a couple of hands on an edited TV show. Especially when we won't judge someones PT stats without tens of thousands of hands. He's better than alot of us(especially me)will ever be IMO.

Also I don't think cavemen had capacity to understand rockets. Man hadn't evolved enough yet. But that's another thread.

I don't think so. I don't like Hellmuth. I'm in the majority there. But the fact is he is a good poker player.

I bet on sports and I use this site called matchbook. On this site prop bets between individuals can be arranged. What kind of odds are people willing to lay me on Hellmuth if he and durr actually put in a meaningful heads up live match? I'm not big ballin like some of the posters here, but I will put up 3K on the poker brat to whoever will lay me the best odds.
