Even if the thread is BS, the idea that a stabbing wound is OK just because the knife was duller than others is absurd. What, did you think you'd do fewer hit points?

Villain's play is expert. Many novice players (including the OP) will think that this call is -EV, but a professional knows that, if he makes his runner, he will induce enough stabbings in later hands to show a healthy profit in the long run.
