This would actually be aggravated battery (doubt they'd go for attempted murder)... that's good for 3-5 years and up to a $10k fine in Illinois. Unless they slowplay him and go for probation or suspended sentence. More stabaments.

OP, I like your line here but probably raise more pre-flop. Stabbing on the river is optional imo but fairly standard. As played, counter-sue villain for damages in negligence. Defence of provocation may be available depending on your jurisdiction.

Jail should be sweet. Just play poker for packets of cigarettes with huge black guys. Should be fun.
