I have experienced a bad beat I have experienced a bad beat

I was playing for stakes that mattered to me.

I skillfully manipulated my opponent into making an error.

I was a substantial favorite in the hand.

I still lost.

I would have preferred to win.

The money would have been sufficient to buy something nice that I wanted.

Please console me. Or pretend to console me.

In exchange, I will console you when a similar thing happens to you.

These type of things can not happen to me. I am always the one being "skillfully manipulated".

Many condolences. Thinking of you at this sad time. (I chose the latter option, BTW)

I was perusing 2+2 when I probably should have been doing something else.

I happened upon this thread in BBV.

I was fairly certain I would find standard "poor me" fail and trolls.

I was wrong.

I would have preferred thread savers.

The time spent reading was not much and it's at least a little bit different.

Cool story bro, unlucky. Good luck at the tables.

Please do not troll me. I am sensitive to internet flame wars.

Back in MY day, we used to single table limit stud at Planet Poker. If you wanted a HUD, you held your player notes index card up next to the screen. When you wanted to cash out, you had to make a telephone call between certain hours of the day to some heavily-accented guy at foreign number. They sent you a handwritten check from some random Canadian bank (a different one each time).
