I want this more than anything but I'm constantly taking ridiculous beats. I seriously hate myself. Everyone go ahead and get your 7 chuckles in.

If the game makes you miserable, you should just try to quit for something that makes you happier. You feel bad even when you are winning overall, it shouldn't be like that.

The mental side of poker is terrible, so from a guy who used to toss laptops in swimming pools, I just wish you the best dealing with those feelings !

Yeah you are probably right bro. I dont enjoy this game at all. I just figured i could make decent money legally playing if i got good, which i figured was better than my other options. Dont know what ill end up doing but this isnt it. Pretty sure i have a mood disorder or something too.

Until you understand the impact of variance and embrace it, you will stay miserable. Poker is a frustrating game. You can play near perfect and get your head smashed in. For weeks, or months. I'm currently on ~3 weeks of a brutal downswing, and years ago I would've been like you. But now I get it.

In all seriousness though, playing .02/.05 is asking for pain. You are basically playing the worst of the worst. You will see and be on the wrong end of all kinds of idiots getting lucky. But if there was no luck, they would immediately know they sucks and not play, so we have to embrace the idea that they will win sometimes and just make sure we win more than them (and everyone else) long-term.

Sounds like you're pretty young too, might just need to grow up a little bit and experience life before caring about poker. Lots more to life than some cards and chips. Go flirt with girls you think are too hot for you. You'd be surprised. Cheers man.

try 10+ year downswing,....

im honestly about done with it, especially on ACR. IMO its 100% altered for Brazil/Russia and ill die on that hill. Was AT WORST a break even player from 2008-2018 and as soon as big software change happened it was game over

Ive never seen a player base from Brazil that just get away with so much ****. its not even hyper aggro, its hyper aggro on steroids and then they still win every single ****ing AIPF as a dog.

It can get on you and stay on you, so that it seems and feels like a new reality. Like it's alive, non-random, the result of some principle. That's aside from just getting cheated, of course. I don't play online and never did. Was told I was "overly suspicious" about it. LOL.

i believe its 100% rigged but not in a way you might think it is

ive about reached my breaking point and when i sit back and look at all my hand histories, just couldnt be more clear as day whats going on

yes there are RTA users, yes there are superusers, yes there are bad players that make variance horrific, but its rigged in this manner

i just played about 20k hands this week, and got dealt AA..........4 times

and this is how ACR is rigged especially for the U.S player thats not on the payroll. What is to stop those sites from altering odds in preflop distribution?

for example. the odds say on average im supposed to get dealt AA, 1:220 is hands. what stops programmers for those sites to make it say 1:300 hands?

Figure up the odds on only getting pocket aces 4 times in 20K hands. Then check it again in the next couple 20Ks. That would seem meaningful.

We are talking about different things in that I'm playing live, and the "orchestration" of non-random heavy skewing is not vulnerable to the influences your's are online, which doesn't mean it isn't vulnerable to other non-random influences. But don't get me started on that.

I don't play online (never trusted it plus it gives me carpal tunnel plus it just doesn't do it for me or play to my strengths (psychology/intuition/reads), but it seems virtually all your stats could be checked versus random expectation.

My wider point is that the seemingly impossible can indeed unfold. So can just pure riggage obviously.

Right on thanks for the advice, man. Ran everything through a variance calculator, didn't realize just how brutal it could actually get. I'm not too young, 27, but I got in some trouble when I was younger though, so a bit of my natural maturing was kind of stifled, I suppose. I took a bit of time off to get my head on right and moved up to 10nl. I can actually get folds there lmao. I was trying to grind up a roll from scratch like i heard people doing in the old days, which is why i was even wasting my time at 5nl, haha. I posted an update graph of my current progress for you guys, if you or anyone else is interested. I'm taking things slow 2 tabling and really trying to play by best poker, shorter sessions.

I hope your downswing ends soon, my guy. Sending good vibes your way, for what its worth!

Here is an update after moving up to 10nl to face some better competition, after taking a little break to get my head screwed on straight and putting some time in studying. Been trying to work on my redline in particular, as you'll see. Its only over 10k the last 2 weeks, as I have been 2 tabling and really thinking every spot through. Placed 13th in the Casino King freeroll last night too, got rivered but its all good! Let me know what you guys think.

10nl

Across all stakes.
