maybe tell him you know his name + phone + adress etc and ask him to repay all his scammings + 20% (?) and it'll be over.

if you really have the correct info on him he should be very willing to oblige, even though you might not have any legal action. he probably doesnt want a site like www.stevenwareisathief.com to be created.

looks like an honest kid, how did he turn into a scammer =)

Guess he had some debts that needed repaying fast, or the mob would put him down or something.

This thread is unreal, I am genuinely gutted for you OP. I don't know how people can do this. I just wouldn't have the heart.

So the lesson is, always await confirmation they are who they say they are on their respective sites, (i.e PM as friend did) no matter how juicy the deal seems.

I posted an update in the Norwegain forum saying that I have talked to the scammer and he has agreed to sign a promissory note. I also asked for help on how to set up the note properly.

wait, isnt a promissory note an IOU? why cant he just give you your money back instead of some note? why would you even trust some scammers signature on a piece of paper? he's probably just buying time til he can move house or whatever.

How can you confirm that these "other victims" are not either working with the scammer or just new characters the scammer has created.

It seems like these "people" are influencing you not to out the scammer. Which is exactly what he wants.

This guy is really good at what he does.
