i couldnt read all of this, he seems like a real standup guy with a decent head on his shoulders and i wish him a ton of luck in life.

BUT, the most inspiring thing i read was the kid giving his report card money to him. wp kid. this will get bashed im sure, but people do what jared did everyday with alot less help. IN NO WAY WOULD I SAY NOT TO HELP HIM, we all deserve a chance and some help in life, but i think its a little overplayed at this point. if he isnt back on his feet, then its just hurting to keep sending money(not sure if people are still donating, just saying). im not discounting in any way the tough road he had to go down with family, medical, etc. its a touching and motivational story for sure.

also, it seems this is a donate, praise, or go away type thread? no constructive criticism is allowed and thats quite sad, cause tough love sometimes helps much more than handouts and good wishes imo.

i wish jared GL and i hope he makes the show, wins a ton of money(preferably off of helmuth) and donates to others in his previous situation or worse. well done so far man. keep the good will rolling onto others.

There've been some trolls who got shouted down, sure, but actually there's been quite a bit of constructive criticism and open debate in the thread(s). The general consensus seems to be that offers like Boosted J's and spacegravy's will do more for Jared in the long run - teach a man to fish and all that. In fact, days after Jared started learning from spacegravy in Miami he binked a 180 man tourney for $500. So I hope you don't feel like no one's allowed to offer a different opinion. I for one want to hear from everyone assuming they've actually read the entire thread and keep their comments civil and constructive.

I just read the entire thread in one straight viewing, I was completely compelled by this story on so many levels. The general attitude and encouragement that BBV gave here is amazing and alone should be applauded. Secondly I have to applaud the obvious which is simply Jared himself, completely moving and as redundent as it came off to even myself inspiring. The videos and updates brought me to tears and made me think about how well off I've had it since day one. There are way to many people to try and list and thank and pay respect to that have helped Jared along his path but to those who attempted you should feel like you're apart of something amazing. It doesn't matter how much you gave or encouragement you provided, you are a piece of the whole spectrum of hope for humanity and civilization as a whole. It doesn't matter to whom or where your charitable services are sent off to just the fact that you presented the oppurtunity to someone in need is exceptional.

All I have to say to the people with speculation is, it's okay. You don't have to donate, you wouldn't be looked at a different way but since the inception of this thread its not like the man has done anything immoral or attempted to scam any of us. He's a good person in a bad place, clearly he has deeper issues than most of us can fathom. You cannot however disregard his work ethic, his compassion and his gratefulness to the community that has tried to help him along his path.

To end my rant I just want to say I don't really care if Jared makes this tournament, simply because he has already inspired hope to so many people and changed a lot of peoples lives that he's already a success in my eyes. For someone that came from so little and avoid so many life obstacles that subsides from his upbringing I am truly impressed.

You deserved the best Jared!

Thanks for asking! ...I've been in beautiful Miami for 4 days, only went outside once or so to grab some stuff from the pharmacy. Been grinding SNG's, and studying poker non-stop for 4 days. It's 4AM here and I'm 10 tabling $6.50 45 mans.

Haven't posted much on 2+2 the last few days because I'm trying to make the most of this learning experience. Spacegravy and his roommates, Jay Weezey, and Andrew Boccia, are very kind and hospitable. I'm very lucky to have gotten to meet them. It's been unforgettable

Glad you answered my question and took some time to come here and read all the positive energy that is being sent your way.

I do feel you are honoring what good fortune (finally, some good fortune!) in trying to absorb all that is being taught to you, forgeting all other non essential things. I don't have a clue who the people you are with are but, according to the buddies here on 2+2, they seem to be the $500 hourly rate poker coaches so what they are doing for you is awesome.

I just would like to say a few things if I may. Regarding the buddy talking about working at the mines (he has a post somewhere talking about this) I absolutely respect your opinion and so should the hater dissing you. You have a valid opinion: we all have difficulties in life and go throug some hard times, now and then. I can say I am very lucky because I have a house to come to and this one of the most important things in life, regaring quality of life, we may aim for.

For instance, I have some serious debts I have to pay, debts that are my parents (hospital bills from cancer treatments) but if I don't payed them (don't know how yet) they might lose their house. Nevertheless they have a house and that gets their quality of life a lot higher than Jared's. This is my main point.

What I want to reach with this is: first thing Jared must get is a house, room, share room (anything) in order to build up his confort in life. Only after that you (jared) should be worrying with helping other persons. You won't be able to do much good if You aren't in a stable and confort position.

Question: did you focus on trying to get back to poker or could you resign totally from the cards to work, under a steady contract, on, let's say, the mines?

About the people attacking others with different sides of view: this comes against all the love and tolerance shown in this thread. If somenoe doesn't want to send money but still says good luck, hey, great. That is better than many people have during life: get someno rooting for you so, the many gl's and love here, the better.

I for one don't know what game is everyone talking about but I wish you good luck in that game and lots and lots of good fortune!

Just to end - what I love most in your video talking about the house wasn't thr speech (in the end), it was the honesty in your heart when talking about the stuff in the living room and, most of all, the happiness when talking abouy the bathroom.
