To give you a little background I'm a 21 y/o small and Micro stakes MTT grinder that started playing poker just over a year ago, and I've put a heck of a lot of work into my game. My results however have just made me so sick that I'm having a hard time staying motivated to keep grinding. Below is a few graphs that rep my luck and play; I'm looking for feedback as to what other peoples graphs generally look like and "How bad is this really" because it feels like an unbreakable string of bad luck. Cheers and thank you in advance for any feedback

All Time All in Equity on Stars

All Time Non-Showdown Winnings

And Finally Bankroll (Doesn't include a $1000 profit made over a sample of about 100 tournaments on an untracked site)

Why not? When you're deep in a tournament with a lot of chips thats when the most equity is at stake. I'd rather win a $1,000,000 chip pot worth 70bb than a $10,000 chip pot worth 200bb.

You could finished 2nd 100 times in 100 MTTs and your chip graph would still be going down, though I'm sure in RL you'd be pretty happy.

Okay can we get off of taxes and back onto variance. Canadian hobby players such as myself (I have a another job where I do pay taxes) don't have to pay taxes on online poker winnings. Does anybody not trolling about taxes have input on the sample?

Taxes must be high to only have 1.3k in winnings.

Basically OP doesn't understand basic tax.

Or basic math.

How basic.

Basically OP is basic.

Mr. Sheep and Mr. Horus are very reasonable men, listen to them.

So how much in taxes do you have to pay at your real job?

Oh and btw I am Canadian and because the government takes such a huge cut from the casinos is the reason the rake is unbeatable at the casinos around my parts. Imagine playing in daily tournaments where the rake is 20%, they are not worth even playing

LOL at thinking that your government taxes are responsible for these rakes...

...also in the US 20% isn't even that bad

If they run a single table of 1/2 nl it's probably better than any of your other options

Is that so? Since the government takes about 50% of the casinos revenue I would most definitely say the stupid rake rates have something to do with it.

I would say playing online is a far better option than playing an unbeatable game. The max rake is $7. Throw in a bbj drop of $1 and a high hand drop of $1 you are looking at a pot that has to exceed $90 before the drain is less than 10%. In days when there are to many solid players it doesn't make sense to play at a casino.

you might want to consider using a term other than "revenue," as that is often used to refer to influx of money, not income.

I think what you're trying to say here is "income," which, more accurately, would be "profit."

So basically OP is whining that he never won a tournament. Get over it. OP if you want to look at chip EV at least look at the BB's won instead of chips because your winnings are always negative 1 starting stack when you don't finish 1st, understand?
