I finished 2021 with a $10k poker bankroll & a goal to hit $25k by the end of 2022. Well, today I hit my goal not even 4 months into the year! (Okay, I'm $70 shy, but close enough that I'm ready to revise my goal for the year.)

I'm a recreational small-stakes player, so I don't get to play as often as I like, but I'm definitely proud to have been able to accomplish this goal. Now I'm setting a new goal of $50k by year end.

Good results, and nice amounts at these stacks and given the duration of play.
What's the "bomb pot" pls?

A lot of places in Texas like to do bomb pots, which usually happen whenever there's a dealer change and/or whenever a special bomb pot button lines up with the regular dealer button at the table (i.e.: once an orbit). It just depends on where you play & what stakes you play whether they run bomb pots.

The bomb pot itself is where everyone pays an ante, everyone's dealt a hand, and everyone goes straight to the flop. More often than not, these bomb pots are PLO, although sometimes a dealer or player (depending on who gets to choose) will pick a different game like Hold'em or Pineapple. Usually they're also dealt as a double board, meaning you could be playing for just the top board, just the bottom board, or trying to scoop both depending on what you're holding. You also can't be sure which board other players are going for either.

There's definitely more variance in these bomb pots compared to typical Hold'em hands, which is why I record these games differently in my app.

If you check out this episode of my vlog, you can see an example of a bomb pot.
