What's an acceptable hand for us to call in the following situation?

We're 5-handed, and a known LAG villian raises 3xBB from UTG. Both of us have stacks 8.5xBB. I hold A/9s and re-raise, push all-in.

Is A/9s acceptable? It turns out he had AJo and won, but I'm not sure whether my call range should've been tighter there.

On one hand, I call and miss and have 6BB left. On the other hand, I call and hit an Ace, love my hand, and lose.
