I just think it is so scary that a 20 year old kid starts making a lot of money, and the first thing he wants to do is blow 3k to impress people he does not know. If you are going to waste 3k get a pound of weed or a sick plasma tv screen. You can donate it or give it to a friend that needs it.

I am not opposed to him dropping 50k if thats what he wants to do. 3k is not a negligible amount for him, as it would be to a billionaire. The utility he got out of 3k was to essentially press a button a couple hundred times, knowing he was going to lose an amount of money similar to what he did.

This is not even close to the same as playing blackjack with $20k or whatever. At BJ there's a .5% edge to overcome, making winning a very real possibility. In this challenge there is absolutely no way to turn a profit playing like that, so it really is just lighting money on fire.
I think the only difference is that you lose your $$ a little more slowly in blackjack. Afterall theres no way to turn a profit in BJ unless you can count.

Going to every showdown is painful. Yeah, I know, weak. At $0.02/$0.04 nobody can hear you scream.
