If you don't want to deal with it for the next 5 years, that's a chinchilla cat. My parents have one (they're so awesome...really people-friendly and will never leave you alone); they're rare but not THAT rare and go for a few hundred dollars from pet shops. Yours actually looks 95% like mine so if you can get another one it might work.

obviously, there was a burglar in your house today. nothing was missing... except for the cat. damage to your house is $2500. let the famous couple pay for your damage.

in 3 days, you get a ransom note in your mailbox. they demand $1000 to get the cat back. let the famous couple pay it.

a few days later, after you "delivered" the $1000, there's still no sign of a living cat. you feel bad about it, and decide to return the damage-monies that the famous couple paid you.

they will thank you for returning the money, and not blame you. cat gone. problem solved. profit $1000.
