so i've been on mind-bending tilt the last few days, caused mostly by this type of thing:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=3#Post11873217

Tonight I wrote this to FTP, to what ends I am not sure. It helped me vent I guess. Comments welcome.
Hello,
According to PokerEV (i'm sure someone at your company knows what this software is), i'm about $15k below equity (about 30 buyins) over the summer. I'm talking about a sample size of over 80 thousand hands. Running this bad over such a prolonged stretch is seemingly impossible. It makes me question the integrity of your card shuffling algorithms. The worst hands seems to win an impossible amount of the time. If this keeps up my account will be busto and I will be unable to further line the pockets of your fat officers with thousands of dollars in rake each month. I'm not sure why I am writing this email because I know nothing will come of it. At other, some would say more reputable, poker sites, they would respond to an inquiry of this type with at least some sort of stress ball or teddy bear. I don't think you have these available in your abysmal FPP store, but I'm just throwing it out there. If you send me links to your "card integrity" testing site or whatever other [censored] I will strongly consider taking my business elsewhere.
I'm not sure what it is about me or my account that makes your shuffle algorithm despise me, but it would absolutely lovely if I could change my account name, or if you developed a better "random" shuffler.
Love,
Lee Hoytt (I currently play on your joke site under the name "azn fella")

P.S. I'm aware that this e-mail has been abundantly hateful, but if the present circumstances continue unaltered I will no longer to be able to play poker on your site, which would be a shame for everyone.

P.P.S. I literally received an email from Full Tilt not more than 20 seconds ago telling me that my chat privileges were being abused. I can only claim that repeated suckouts have made me very angry and would have the same emotional effect on anyone. Suspend my chat if you must, but just know that my "infractions," which, despite containing cussing, at least were not racist or feminist or anything like that, were not unprovoked. Thank you.

flame away!!!

stop feeling bad for yourself. you don't play particularly well and i have graphs that would put yours to shame. it's just a program. it's not perfect. every graph i've ever produced on that thing has me running below expectation. it's a fun novelty program but not much more than that. if you want to make money, get better at poker.

yeah, i haven't seen a single graph of anyone running above expectation with PokerEV, i think something is wrong with the software. it doesn't actually work for me so i cant test it, but i would love if someone else managed to figure out how accurate it is

I never said I play good! lol look at my location. Anyway, I got this response back from them (they reference gigabet's awesome life/poker guide post):

Hello Lee,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Customer Support.

I have taken a look at your hand history and can certainly understand
how frustrating a bad run can be; I think as serious poker players, we
can all relate to cold cards, horrendous coolers and the like.

I do wish to impress upon you that variance is not a bad thing in
poker--if there was no variance--that is, if the skillful players always
won at their expected rate, the lesser players would never play with
good players, such as yourself, on even ground. If you compare poker
with other games of skill, you will notice that in no other game do tens
of thousands of players make a living from the game. In chess, for
example, you will not find any poor players playing against expert
players for money on an even playing field.

I understand that this is hard to grasp when one is being run over by
seemingly lesser players, but variance allows the game to exist, and the
less expert players to continue playing and enjoying themselves--if a
poor player always lost, there would be no game (certainly no good game)
in existence. It is actually a blessing for winning players such as
yourself that occasionally, poor play is rewarded and good play is
punished. Be confident that if you continue to play well, the statistics
will take care of themselves and approach its theoretical mean. Keep
playing, and keep studying the game, and I know that you will succeed in
the long run.

P.S. on a serious note (I know this is BBV and everything but I"m looking for some advice please), I find myself on a serious kind of residual tilt that makes me wayyy overvalue very marginal hands. I can't seem to stop even though I know I'm playing bad. Even the tuff fish ytmnd page is not helping. I may try to force myself to actually use my cardrunners subscription. Anyone have advice?

cardrunners helps when you are on a downswing imo, just helps you patch up any frequent mistakes you may be making

I must defend Full Tilt on this front, when I finally got bored of their software crashing and left, I bought one of the only things I could afford from their store, the teddy. It was easy to order, arrived surprisingly quickly, and was pretty decent quality.

BEAT: Their FPP store is the most impressive thing about them.
BEAT: My girlfriend wouldn't let me order the Full Tilt cards I wanted instead (pwned )

On a serious note, a change of scenery helps me when I'm running really bad. Just play on another site for a couple of weeks. Your first reaction to losing a big pot being "this [censored] [censored] is so rigged" just perpetuates the downswing.
