So we flew to Spain with the intention of making this our new home for the foreseeable future. We will have to go back to Australia to actually make the application, but that's the plan.
We got here with no accommodation sorted. That's how we have always rolled. We don't like to book something long-term without seeing it. Particularly in a country we know fa about.
Our plan was to stay somewhere between Alicante and Valencia. It's about 400km of coast line. Our plane arrived in Madrid, so we had to drive down (hired car). We then spent the next week searching high and low for somewhere to live without much luck. The main reason being that it's the tail end of the tourist season here. So, we've given up and settled on a place for 3 weeks with the hope that there is more stuff available come October.
The 3 week stay is in a place about 20 minutes north of Alicante. It's about 1 minute walk from the closest beach and about 15 minutes walk from the closest good beach. The one close to us is pretty rocky.
Interestingly they spell Alicante without the "e" here, so it's Alicant. The second "a" sounds like a "u". So that highly amusing to us immature folk.
Our stay got off to a rocky start...
He basically ****ed up. His restaurant is right there. We probably would have eaten there at least 3 or 4 times. Now he won't get **** (tee hee) from us. Anyway, we haven't heard from him since.
Because I know you all have short attention spans, here's some photos...
We were at the mall and I saw this when we walked past the cinemas. Someone from BBV here?
Coastline is stunning (near Benidorm)
So this happened to my car. Anyone that's been to/lives in Europe knows how tight roads/car parks are. 20 plus years and 100s of thousands of miles traveled and this is my first accident not involving a kangaroo. Stupid tight bend in the supermarket carpark!

And my dog because he is awesome!
Also I almost picked staying in Denia the moment we arrived. We found a dog beach there and as we were pulling up this 10/10 came running up the beach with only a g-string bikini (no top). Literally running. GF lent over and said "You're going to like it here aren't you?"

Fid makes a thread about discovering the wonders of the world and that is your takeaway? That you want a rando burger from a rando TV ad seen on one of fid's photos? How shallow can you be? 
Are you at least allowed to eat burgers made with that new artificial meat? I hear they taste like the real thing!

Some veggie burgers are actually very good.
I don't think it's artificial meat, but it looks like the same thing (and tastes about 90% as good).

The journey is coming to an end next week.
Definitely sad about it, but know it's time.
It's been phenomenal, and I know I'm lucky to have been able to do it.
