Bought in for 10K, ran it up to 25, then ran KK into AA SB vs Straddle for the biggest pot of my life...
Bought in for another 10K, did not work out either.

So yeah, down 20K for the night (10K effective because I was backed, but still).

I can afford it, but it feels very demoralizing.

Whining over Feeling better already, tomorrow is a new day.

The MINIMUM buyin for 25/50 is 5k, with a ~$20k avg bi on weekends.
$10k for 20/40/100 is laughably short.

If nobody at the table complained about your short stack, it was because you were an easy mark.

I play with drug dealers, not with pros. They don't care, most of them start with 10 and rebuy 10 times in the evening.

But regardless, I don't think that buying in deep when taking a shot is a thing, or a clever way to go about it anyway. And whatever the stacks at the table, unless there is straddle re-straddle every hand, 100BB is not short by any means.

Getting it in is never smart. You're either against AK-QQ-KK-AA. Why scare them away? Maybe some flops come that save you.

Those drug dealers probably rigged the game and setup that KK v AA.

I'm Colin_Piddle's gimmick so I can say here that you were probably set up in a rigged game by drug dealers.

It is always possible of course. However, I did not notice anything funny at the table. No phones out on a regular basis, no ear plugs, bottom dealing impossible, pro dealers change every 45 min. My opponent was also literally getting a massage at the time, so pretty limited in his movements.

Of course, there is always a chance. Care to share ways that this could have happened? I think it's just a set up, but I am obviously eager to learn about new things to look out for, as I am still pretty new to the live scene.

That does not mean much, but I am not the first player my backer introduced into this game either. Other players I know have made 100K+ scores there in a night, so I guess that would probably be a new thing if it was indeed rigged.

Tbh, I know it looks bad to say I play with people who are already engaged in illegal activities, and I understand how it could connect with them bringing this mindset into the game. However, this is a very significant part of the crowd in pretty much all the games I play at, and I never really had any issue to that regard, at least to my knowledge. Most of them are just gamblers who don't know what to do with their money or time.

The game is so rigged that even the cleaning lady was in on it and was passing cards through the glory holes in the men's room. Some of the most successful players pulled their quads and full houses straight from those glory holes.
