Drunk OOL HG--->Prop Bet--->Surgical Procedure

Background: All 6 21-23yr olds in hometown who play poker decide to have a homegame. Have not played one of these in sometime as everyone who plays is at least a small winner at 1/2 or 1/3 live. Play .5/1 as some would rather take strangers money at casino rather than friends.
The Game: Not to be surprised but we all start to consume a bit too much alcohol whilst playing and the double and triple straddles are starting to come out and the rebuys are flying across the felt. Probs my best bud in the game who we will call "Idiot" is running awful. Lost AA to my AKs, ran twice lost both. Loses top two vs gutter/flush draw, and lost another all in shortly I cant remember. He has solely put $400 in my stack alone.
The Prop Bet: Idiot: "I bet you that 400 that you can't strike me out given 3 at bats". Drunk friends immediately pile on to do it. Drunk me says lets go, used to throw mid to high 80s in high school. Now we are outside in the dark using two construction lights that I am positive are blinding the neighbors. Measure roughly 60 feet and take the mound. *Looks way further away than I remember* I throw some warm up pitches and my elbow already feels like death.
First at bat: 4 pitches, walk. ****tt
2nd at bat: I have him 2-2 and he hits a small weak grounder
3rd at bat: I decide to rear back and show him I have just been sandbagging him. I let the pitch fly and I was certain my arm went with it. I look up and the ball hits him square in the ribs. lolz. He gets up and starts celebrating by running around the makeshift bases (pizza boxes) and yelling. As he rounds 3rd he slips on the box and falls straight on his ass onto some sharp rocks landscape area thingy. Complains about how much he is in pain. Everyone laughs/calls him a pussy.
Surgery: 3 days later, turns out one of the rocks pierced his "area" and it has become a medical issue. Needs to have surgery on it. Has it drained and fixed and whatever and doctor tells him he cant fly to Aruba for his vacation with family that was planned 3 years in advance. Every time he uses bathroom or farts he has to shower and re apply bandages for 3 weeks. Lost 400 prop bet but hands down best home game ever
Decently bad beat he took that night but still gets needled about this on the regular.
Are there any lessons to be learned from this instance???
