i wonder what goes through the minds of people who make threads like these...and as i'm currently on synch break, i shall take these 5 minutes to delve into what must be the logical musings and rationalizations of a human being with the intelligence level of a dog hybrid with a lawn gnome

actually on second thought, i have better things to do with my time...like say...rehash childhood memories

when i was 7 years old my family had a christmas eve party the likes of which you've never seen. we had a tree the size of mount rushmore and gifts so lavish and excessive they'd make the AIG executives seem humble by comparison. all the family and my father's work associates and my mother's book club all came by and all commented on how wonderful and plump the ham was, and we caroled for a good 3 hours.

my family was a wealthy bunch...we were always merry and whenever we went to the town square, my sister brother mother father and i would hold hands and skip down the cobblestone road singing "singing in the rain" (ironically, we lived in phoenix, where it never rained)

christmas morning came. i awoke at 5 am, well sooner than my usual wakeup time, because i wanted to sneak downstairs and open the gifts...when i got down to the last step i saw a head bobbing up and down. i was still tired and disoriented, but i heard my mom shouting out "oh god oh god oh god"

i was frightened and thought my mom was in trouble...i focused and noticed the head bobbing was my father's, who let out grunt after grunt after grunt with a look full of focus and rage that it would terrify charles manson.

i heard slaps with him yelling out "take that, bitch" and her continuing to scream. my father was hitting my mother, i was certain of that. i thought about calling the police, but was worried they wouldn't get there in time and that something really terrible would happen in the meantime, so i devised a plan

i went into the garage and found my father's sledgehammer, but at 7, the sledgehammer was much to heavy to carry all by myself, so i got my wagon, and tilted the wagon so i could simply push the hammer in it...i dragged the wagon back to the room but then came across a whole new problem: how do i hit my dad with this when i can't even lift it?

again i racked my brain, and got some tape, a hose, some nails and wood, and using an intricate system of levels and pulleys fashioned a device based on the film "honey i shrunk the kids" that would automatically hit my dad in the head with the hammer.

my device was a success and my dad fell to the ground. i quickly ran to my mom to make sure she was alright only to find that she was naked. so was my dad. i couldn't understand why and they never did bother to explain it.

my dad is currently a quadrapalegic with slurred speech and an IQ around 6. my mother, who had to work since my dad was rendered incapable of performing his jobs, worked in the coal mines for several years. she has the black lung and lives in a trailer park with a caretaker named bubba. my sister works in a brothel somewhere.

on the plus side, one of my gifts was a sweet new bike

Um. What if an ace, a king, or any club fell on the river? You know you were barely 70% on the river, right?

It's not like you flopped quads and got runner runnered.

I said I was sad it happened. Nothing much more, nothing much less, although I do think it is an extraordinary hand.

But somehow, I get the sense you guys think this is one of those -kaaarazy- threads of "woe is me."

Um, no. So relax guys.

I'd say if one of the above happened instead of the royal flush, I wouldn't have made a post. I only made the post due to the rarity of a royal flush hitting.

That's all. This thread was not meant to be complicated.

That's all.

I also lost a crazy hand.
Had KK VS AK, flop: K22 (this is where most of the money when in, not pre)
I fist pump when he turns over AK, then running 2s land and he takes it down.
wtf is that?

You must have been a sad panda when that happened.

Actually, talking about fist pump, I thought I took that hand down when the Jack hit on the river, giving me the fullhouse. I didn't realize it was the Jack of clubs until two seconds later and I had no more chips left to play. Then I became a sad panda.
