I've published a number of books, and I would say the low end in that article is actually the high side. Maybe big publishing companies would be paying those prices but independent authors (who know what they are doing) don't. Certainly don't pay for things like reviews.

No point publishing as a batch of 200. Just make it available via CreateSpace and Amazon. Costs nothing to make it available, then people can buy direct from Amazon, and you can order smaller batches yourself as and when you want them.

Saw a group of around 6-7 guys wearing a shirt that said #DEGEN walking the strip last night. I laughed.

Use paragraphs. Cause, you know, that's what writer's do.

Using them in your pitch might make you seem more like a writer.

Also, the video is just a tad weak imo.

You should consider making a video in which you explain the project and tell one of your stories.

I'm not gonna lie OP, your kickstarter pitch blows and comes across like a complete scam. Not much effort put into the pitch and people can see that. No surprise to me that no one has pledged.

Can't lie. Your right about paragraphs. Surprised I let that slide. Video was known to be weak. Will never release strong video. Too much pride.. Wasn't a scam. and I was recommended KickStarter, as a site I'm not familiar with. I'm content with not getting funded for idea. Plan on finishing book and still making Vegas trip 100%.

Would hope you wouldn't think that. But either way I'm content with failing. I did go back and paragraph my KS, but doubt that makes a difference. Will update this thread with video & SS.. Also will have moderate trip report as soon as I make it out there..

Just to be clear, I don't think your kickstarter is a scam, I'm saying it comes across like a scam, or just a not very committed proposal, because of the overall lack of quality of the pitch.

When I look at kickstarter I very much focus on the video and wouldn't be surprised if others are the same. If you are concerned about your identity you could always do a back-lit setup so your features can't be seen, with a voice scrambler and captions. In fact, I think such a video would make your pitch much more compelling. Frankly, I can't believe I even have to explain this to you after reading your Skeet Beat scam (or whatever it's called) where you go into so much detail about how to set the scene and then set the hook. You've ignored all that here. You didn't even try. It's disappointing that you didn't put much effort into making the pitch imo.

I had a crazy night. Was still very inebriated when I got home and posted at 5am. So I wasn't too clear. The whole KS idea was recommended to me by someone ITT. I had never actually heard of KS prior to that. When I did take a look at it, I felt my project wasn't made for that site. I originally was thinking of funding, maybe in the sense of someone trusted here escrowing for the trip or something like that. All just ideas anyway. But I went ahead and made a quick one on KS and linked to this thread. Figured it would only be people from here interested in it. Felt anyone who was interested, would already have a good sense of what was going on from everything I have already shared. But you are right. That is a very weak KS. I don't have the motivation to go above and beyond to fund-raise for a trip report full of degenerates. Also writing a book and finding help ITT for editing and such, should make a book fairly cheap. Especially going the route of Amazon with e-books. So just not enough drive to make me post a video like others do on that site. So ya, there is absolutely no chance of me making a video of myself talking about this project. With all that said, I do plan on continuing to write to complete a book. I hope to eventually release it online for anyone interested.

As far as Vegas goes. All this talk has committed me to going. I intend on going around the 1st and 2nd week of September. I have a friend (who is carrying his own weight BTW)that wants to go and be there for opening week of football to fire on games. I may find a couple others that want to go. But it is hard given the financial aspect of others committing to that trip. I will check-in on here with some trip updates when the time comes. Just will obviously not be full of the degenerate entourage on display. In the mean time I will post old videos clips I have and maybe photos to entertain anyone still interested ITT. They most likely won't be as entertaining as my stories, but will be less time consuming for me. Will try to post a video tonight. Until then, CHEERS!

This is old video footage of my friend Wins B-Day party that I had edited to post on Myspace after the party. Terrible quality, because it is from Hi-8 tape. I also edited this at least 8 years ago with cheap software, so do not mind the lame editing.

I recommend watching before you read any further. Anyway if you did watch or about to. You will see a character in the video multiple times. Russian kid who has a leather jacket on at one point. Call himself Rush or Russia. This is who I would like to talk about.

Rush

Well it all obviously started with me throwing a little birthday party for my friend. The camera was out early on for the party and picked up some footage. I invited a wide array of people for this and some of the kids were Russians that I knew. We had partied often, but this time they brought their crazy cousin (Rush). He is seen on video early wearing his leather coat before he started to drink. He is later seen profoundly claiming "PLAY THAT DIPSET!" (a popular rap group at the time) Just as the a 50 cent song was ending. Which I found funny because he had no idea what he was listening to.

We had another friend named Paul who was technically Russian and had never met Rush before. They seemed to bump heads because Rush didn't respect Paul authenticness. It quickly became a Vodka match between the both of them to prove who's blood pumped for Mother Russia. I pointed out in the video once Paul was wasted. He was taking a piss in bathroom and yelling "**** You!" to the camera. Shortly after, you can see the change in Rush's behavior when he confesses that he is having a good time to the camera. Here is where we run into the documenting problem. Everyone was too drunk to continue recording.

The night turned into complete chaos. Rush would start doing crazy things. As tension started to build between Paul and him, they decided to forget the vodka and settle the score with a dance-off. Techno of course. We threw in a Euro-mix CD and let them go at it. Paul had been to enough raves in his days to hold as a crowd favorite. But Rush was not going down that easily. When it looked like he all done, he came back with the most over the top dance move I have ever witnessed. He un-buttoned his pants and dropped them right there, boxers and all. He proceeded to do I guess what you would call the helicopter with his Russian chopper. It was his finishing move. Everyone was in a drunken roar of comedy/shock. Paul had no choice but to resign.

Things didn't simmer down from that point though. Paul had some distasteful comments to make about Rush's dance move. Rush punched Paul in the face right in my living room. Again this was the first time I met Rush and we had all known Paul for years. So we quickly took him out the front door and roughed him up for a little bit. I decided he had enough and felt he had payed his dues. I allowed him back in the party. This was a bad idea because he shortly after picked another fight with another friend of mine. We brought him outside to talk to him again. I had asked his cousin Vlad to calm him down. This wasn't working and he continued to argue with another friend of mine. He eventually threw a punch and we all went to attack him again. This time he knew it was coming. He ran across the backyard and smashed his way through a fence into the neighbors yard. It was dark and we could not see him. It seemed as if he just kept running. Moments later he re-appeared with a wooden piece of the picket fence. He struck swiftly and quickly, striking the kid he was arguing with over the head with it. We tackled him and that was the last straw. We told Vlad to get him the hell out of there. They had argued in Russian a bit on the way to the car. Vlad must have said something to piss him off, because Rush then punched his own cousin in the face. Vlad did what any reasonable cousin would do. He grabbed a sock full of batteries I believe, out of his car. He then beat Rush over the head for a bit and left him laying in the street. We all funneled back into the house because we didn't feel there was much more to see. A shot or 2 later I was blacked out, as I think most of us were.

Next thing I remember is waking up the next morning and noticing everyone had left. The house was a mess and only Wins was there. We sat in the living room for about 30 minutes or so trying laughing as we tried to recall the night before. We were talking about how crazy that kid Rush was, when we heard a noise coming from the basement. I wasn't sure what it was, but it sounded like a moan. I went to the top o the basement stairs to listen closely. It was definitely a pain ridden moan. Then I heard rummaging around got a little nervous. I hollered down the stairs "hello?" Then Rush emerged around the corner. He had no shoes and one sock on. His t-shirt as completely torn apart and had blood on it. He had the biggest lump over his forehead and a black-eye. This looked like rock-bottom for him. I asked him if he was okay as he mumbled in pain. He came up the stairs and went straight to the fridge and grabbed a Smirnoff Ice. He held it to his head, then twisted the cap and chugged it. Wins and I couldn't help but laugh. He then sat on the couch in the living room and said he said that last night was crazy but he had a good time. I guess after he had came to from being knocked-out by his cousin, he had nowhere to go. Because Vlad was his ride. Nobody else was willing to let him in their car as they left the party either. I don't blame them. So he came back inside and passed out in the basement. He hung out for a bit during the day and kept asking about a girl from the night before. He can be seen in the video straddling her from behind on a stuffed cow. He really liked her and was so aggressively trying to have sex with her that she fled the party in fear. We obviously gave him her number and let him use our phone to call her all day trying to flirt with her. We told him she was playing hard to get but not to give up. That eventually got old and we brought him home. This wasn't the last time I hung out we Rush, this guy knew how to party.

Side Note -When I transferred my old tapes over to DVD, everything was edited into one continuous clip. But I left a little bonus footage over on this video. That petite girl had a top 3 all-time Chinese finger-trap.

How about a different story of you really degening or losing it? Because so far you made it mostly look like "So i had 5k with me and was up xk and payed a friend of mine to do my ****", if you know what i mean.

Reading the degen stories thread and comparing the stories with yours you never seem to lose your **** completely, which seems unlikely to me.

In my first post to this thread, I said I wanted to isolate my stories from the Degen thread, because many of my stories didn't technically follow the guidelines for that thread. Most of my stories have some form of degeneracy in them though. Even the story of my house burning down. That was a major beat. I have talked about my online runs and blowing the money back. There has been a bunch of references in stories about blowing cash at the casino. Some stories are more brag then beat, where I ran good or lucked out. I find that most of actual hand history, of losses being detailed can get pretty boring. I highlight certain poker hands or table game moments that stick out to me. But the bulk of loss history is pretty standard.

But for your request sir, I will deliver my next story on here all about my first casino loss ever. I can still remember it, but don't think it is too interesting.

The thread is less than a month old. 70k views in that timeframe is pretty damn good. Compare that to the punch Keisha in the face thread which is about 4 years old.

I was actually referring to OOT failing so hard because for some reason I keep associating this thread with OOT. May be from when I said if this was in OOT I'd have banned some guy who was tarding up the thread. Def not trying to move it there.
