Also I have to add this, Its such a sick thread to read, Such an amazing service for OP to actually bother to write anything to us plebeians about how to approach this game, Then you get all these jealous trolls accusing OP of stuff, or just plain making the thread slightly less enjoyable to read..

OP, Well played. Hope I can learn from you somehow by reading this and thinking about the game with a different view point...

Thanks

OP you're a ****ing beast. I can just imagine you in a god-like relaxed posture, meditating your way through your poker sessions..

Thanks for this thread. Its been an eye opener!

I'm wondering how do you read hands/people without using a hud? how can you pay attention to people's tendencies when you are playing so many tables at once?

Don't know if i'm asking the right question, i guess the real question is, what kind of things do you pay attention to when you are multi tabling without a hud.

Any idea will be welcome.

Thanks for the advice, I posted a post there.
I posted here because i thought I'd get better opinion here, cos high stake players usually dont go to beginners forum.

Haha, this thread brings back some memories, I was 26 when I made this thread and I am 30 and married now.

Things have gone ok I think, at least pokerwise for sure. Certainly much better than I would have hoped for back in 2008. I still post on 2+2 now and then but a bit less. I still play professionally and I think I will for another couple of years at least. Iīm sorting out a site / blog thats gonna do free vids soon too get some more interaction /feedback and get to be a bit more creative and have more fun, as professionally the lonely / monotonous aspects of the job are getting to me more and more (unfortunately). Mindfulness is still a large part of my life albeit not as intensely as it was in 2008, and I still feel itīs the best tool / idea any of the major religions or philosophies have given us so far. Iīm still trying to cope with stress in poker and life and trying to become as content as I can be with what I have around me. Doing that is way harder than winning > 1 dollar / hand at poker Iīve found, pretty big lesson for me.

Some up-to-date graphs before swithching to pt4 a couple of months back:

Dollars:

Blinds:

Ps. **** me has Photobucket changed in a couple of years, so much smoother.

Wish that was me but this is not true, this isnīt the view one should have of mindfulness, its not realistic. Mindfulness is a tool that can be used in your everyday life for a ton of things like stress, concentration, ethical decisions and even making money by playing poker. That is also the view thatīs going to get more and more people, especially young ones, to explore it further.

A ton, but mostly Ipoker.
All of them over 3/6. Get nervous when wales have been sat at 200/400 but still play and shortstack.
Yes, definitely these days.
I dont know, but something def happened, I actually remember this and have been discussing this w a couple of other people.

Money increases comfort levels, not happiness levels, so as long as your happiness isnīt being affected by a discomfort in your life then money has no bearing on happiness. Thats why all these studies show that making money past 40-50 k / year doesnt impact peoples overall happiness in any significant manner. But itīs individual I guess, and you need to ask yourself how important comfort is to your overall happiness.

On the social thing, well, neglecting friends and social life hasnīt been something Iīve ever even thought about before. Comes with age I guess when you stop taking things for granted as much maybe? Itīs really each to their own. Recently moved to inner city Stockholm and now all of a sudden there is so much social activity my volume is being affected, so need to find that stimulation in as many ways as I can really.
