I was pretty degen 3 days ago..

1 - lost a few buyins at $55hu games
2 - decided to play some $169 sup turbo games - DDbeast chipbullied, I called with big hands and got busted
3 - played $2200 hu sng - lost with a flip
4 - had $300 left in my account
5 - flipped with bbv
6 - 69>K8
7 - deposited $500
8 - grinding

If someone can teach me how to degen 100$ upto 10K in 1 day I will teach them how to stop there.

When I was 20, I was degening real bad in my life.

I had access to a large overdraft on my checking account and decided to put an empty envelope in a withdraw $3000x5 and get a BR together and then pay it back when I could. (It seemed like a good idea at the time). I figured that by the time they would find the envelopes, I would have rectified the situation.

I took the money and went on a 2 week booze, fishing and coke binge in Cabo with a hot girl and came back with $5k. She grabbed a cab from the airport and I went straight to the casino. I was planning on paying rent and then grinding, but I lost it all playing blackjack in 15 min.

I laugh about it now, but it was very degen at the time

In 2004 i went travelling and spent some time working in Australia to fund the trip home through Asia. I could only work in one job for 3months so when that was up i only had 3 weeks to find another job in time to pay rent. After a week of job hunting i decide fk it. i decide to give notice to my landlord and just take my bond of $500 and go sit in the 5/10 limit game at the local casino. This is the first time ive ever played live. I'd been at the casino every night watching the game but never had the balls to sit. I'd been watching the WSOP every day and i'd been playing for like a month online before this and had read "poker for dummies". I really had no **** clue. I sit down and with the only money i have in a foreign country i proceed to win about $600. I cash out elated and book into a hostel for the night.

I go back the next day to play, and every day after that for about a week and a half. Never have a losing session and have about $3000 now, think im gods gift to poker and am planning on what to spend my future fortune on.

Then the downswing comes, i lose my first $400 buyin. On the way out the casino i play some blackjack, win my $400 back so go back to sit and play poker, lose it again. Go back to the BJ, lose a couple of hundred more. Go to an internet cafe instead of a hostel and stay up all night playing sitngos online, lose another $200. Go back to the casion for the tables opening again, lose another $400. Leave the casino and walk about for a while in a daze. Find a hostel, go to sleep.

I find an ad for medical guinea pigs next day. Take it as it gives me a place to stay and pays $3000 for a month of taking pills and getting blood taken. After the month is up i take my money and head back to the casino feeling refreshed and having studied some more. I proceed to burn through the rest of my money over a week or so. I remember on my last visit to the casino i left $400 in my bank account that i wouldnt gamble with but after blowing through the last of my money on mega tilt i walk out to the cash machine and take the last of it out and play blackjack. Its like 7am and im about the only person in the place. I build it up to $1400 before blowing it betting $200 a hand. THe last hand im pretty sure i had a tear in my eye as the dealer hit blackjack. She looked at me with such pity as she said it, i got up and walked out, i had nowhere to go. I sat out in the sun in the park all day before going to a friends flat to ask to stay the night. I changed my flight ticket to leave the next day, and flew home 3 months earlier than expected, never told my family why, just said i got homesick.

i now play for a living, so at least one good thing came of it.

my brother and i opened a party acct when i was like 17 and we played micro sngs, got pwnd.. we deposited $200 and i lost $50 pretty fast. i decided to play roulette to try and get even. i had read about this "double up" system, where you bet $2, if you lose then $4, then $8 etc until you win the initial 2 back.. so i bet $2, lost, $4, then $8, then $16, then $32, then w/o even thinking about it, insta clicked bet $64 and prayed.. i lost. i was so sick about it that i just bet the last $25 or w/e i had and of course lost it too. I told my bro that i was ****ing around w/ roulette and accidentally clicked "max bet" and lost it.. and had to pay him back. But at least i learned at a young age.. i'll prolly never play table games again

Here's my two cents:

Recently put $350 dollars onto a poker site because I wanted to slowly build a bankroll. Aimed at playing .5/1 with bankroll management of 50 buy ins by the end of the year. I was looking to play the long game, grind it out slowly but surely. That was the plan.

I'm playing solid for the first week (10bb/100) and slowly, surely building my bankroll. Took a few nasty beats but I had conservative bankroll management and a cool head so I could take it, especially as I was so +ev in the games I was playing. Anyway I went on a massive heater on NL10/25 and made around $500 in a number of days. My bankroll is now around $1400 and so I decide to take a shot at NL100, just on one table, just to try it out.

I one table for two hours and I've got my stack up to around 250 thanks to a fish that donated around 5 buyins to the table in less than an hour and then left. I'm second biggest stack and am about to leave but decide to play one more round and this happens:

Can't pull up exact hand history but I'll describe it as best I can.

Get dealt QQ on the button.
UTG+1 is the only player with a bigger stack than me and he raises to 3.5.
Folds round to me and I reraise to 14.
Villain reraises to 40 and I have a solid read that hes a spewtard (built his stack by calling other donk with 89s etc.). So I push.
He calls he with AQ and hits an A on the turn....cue MONKEY TILT.

I lost a 500bb pot (worth around 40%) on a level I'm horrendously under-rolled for thanks to a gross suck out. I hit the blackjack tables and lose my entire roll is under 5 minutes.

If my QQ would have held I'd be sitting pretty on 1800 but instead I got naught in my account. Just a hate for table games. A pretty strong hate considering this is prolly the 3rd time I've done something equivalent to this.

Well I ran out of gas and had $15 on me. I didnt know what to do because i havent had anything to eat either. I was still a long way from where I was heading (to hopefully get a job in a new city) and knowing I had to live in my car until I got a job and my first paycheck I knew I was borderline screwed.

I walked for ages and finally got a ride from a guy who dropped me off at a gas station. The problem is Ineeded to buy a gerry can for gas. I was so screwed. I looked across the street and saw the casino calling my name. I thought well what the hell $15 isnt going to get me anything anyways.

I go into the casino and put the $15 on black and let it spin. Thank Jesus it hits. Now I have $30 and thats still not enough at all. It makes me feel comfortable that I have more than $15, Now I can afford a gerry can, a small meal and a little gas. BUt in an hours time id be screwed again.
I say ok one more time but lets bet on the rows of numbers. I have 33% chance to hit or I guess less because of the zero's. I put the $30 on the first row of numbers. I walk away and my heart is pounding I feel like im gonna be sick, I dont even want to go back. I start to walk over and I see the dealer tripling my bet. So now I have $90! I scoop up the money and get out of their as fast I can. I survived on this $90 for 16 days until I get my first paycheck.

Now I am head accountant at a huge company and make over $150k a year.
All thanks to the casino.
