I take his money in minutes haha. So im even, friend 1 is still up 850, friend 2 is thinking how degen he is and he lost 85 hours worth of pay in 5 minutes.

My favorite dgen story from back in the day. Anyone remember Crystal Park, off the 91 in Compton? I stayed there on a few trips to LA. They used to run shuttles to Hollywood Park, now also defunct. I have some great Eskimo Clark stories from Hollywood.

I busto from the 100 buy-in and settle in to a good 15-30 Limit Hold'em game (they were all good). That's how long ago this was. In LA you could find pot limit on weekends and later a NL game on Sundays which moved around, from Hollywood, then to the Bike I think, and then Commerce. Bobby Hoff would play in those games. Gabe Kaplan and sometimes Jerry Buss would play in those games. I busted the PL game once. The NL game busted me once in the biggest pot I ever played.

Anyway, I'm playing 15-30. Crystal had the cash games on one side of the house by the parking lot, the hotel lobby was in the middle, and the tournaments would run on the other side.

Suddenly this kid comes running at full speed from the tournament side, hits the doors with a crash and leaps down the steps. A few seconds later, a bunch of guys are running after him. I was in a hand, but a lot of people got up to see the commotion.

The mob catches up to the kid and has him encircled. There's a lot of yelling, and eventually he comes out of his pocket with cash and starts giving it to the other guys.

That's right. He won the tournament. He had borrowed from half the world and tried to run out on them after getting paid.

There were so many broke degen hanger-oners in those days (including some bracelet winners).

Ah, before Moneymaker. The good old days.

Been playing at casino even when banned lately (self excluded for a year.)

Was playing 1/3 No limit today. Ended up hitting the high hand which pays $500 and had to fold it, lose the pot and not be able to collect the high hand in fear of them taking ID and throwing me out.

Ended up tilting because of this and called a three way all in with 84 suited. Lost the pot and my $300 stack and walked out.

I'm going to be sharing some stories from the Asian scene. I've been toying with the idea of doing a podcast and perhaps a vlog on some of these antics.

There's a kid who I've seen come and go many times. Run it up, tilt and degen it off then give up and go home. We will call him Chris the degen for the sake of this story.

So I'm playing in a private Chinese 10/20 NL that plays super big and has like 20bb rake and above if they feel like it. It's not rare to see 50-100k+ stacks and them raking around 15k a night. There's a group of three whales that can easily drop 60k in an hour each. One of the new action players who's lost a few hundred k over the week convinces them to try Omaha for the next days game. All the chinese regs don't play Omaha so they ask me to fill the table. It's 10/20 with a 4k minimum buy. We have 4 whales, myself and I get two friends including Chris to join. I sell half my action to the host, and I get 20% of my friends. Chris the degen has enough roll for two 50% buyins and decides to take a punt. At least it's not baccarat.

This game is the ****ing dream. The whales had zero knowledge of Omaha, they are stacking off with any flush or two pair. Keep in mind even in NL these guys will call 1-5k pre with 10-7o if they feel like it. Within two hours we are all up at least 30k. I win 44k, buddy wins 35k, the host won 32k, and Chris won 50k. So all my friends earned half of that (20% to me, 30% to host). Needless to say that was the only time they ran Omaha.

We all go for hotpot at the whales restaurant then go to the ktv and drink with them. I can hold my drinks but these dudes have iron stomachs and I'm chugging along with them. I go to pass out around noon and they mock me for leaving early....

When I left Chris was playing really small OFC as they teach him how to play with one of the fun players and one of the holdem regs. I wake up to a message from Chris. "I DID IT AGAIN!". He punted all his 29k roll and winnings in OFC, a game he just learnt that day.....

He flew back home the next day. Unfortunately, this wasn't the last story of Chris the degen.

So I went back to my room at the Mirage, grabbed some travellers cheques and exchanged them for $ at the cage. I wasn't going to spend hours and hours hoping to go on a run at Pai Gow, my plan was to win a few spins at roulette and recover my loss that way. I had a dreadful start, could hardly hit a number, and within an hour my $1000 dollars had gone.

I went back to the room, cashed up some more cheques and wandered down the strip to the adjacent hotel in search of better luck. Needless to say I lost again, went back to the room to reload, tried another casino, lost again and repeated this routine several times over a period of about 8 hours. By now I had been gambling for about 14 hours straight, was 5 or 6 grand down and only had about 4K left in cash, cheques and credit card space. As I'd tried and failed to get on a run at any of the casino in the neighbourhood of the Mirage and I was getting fed up with traipsing back to my room every couple of hours for a reload, I decided to cash up the lot and go further afield in search of a wheel where I could get on a run and recover my losses. For sure I was pretty nervous by now about the prospect of going busto, but surely my luck would turn and I'd have a good half hour or so , hit a few of my primary numbers in a row, that would enable me to get it all back.

The next few hours were a nightmare as my remaining stack drifted steadily downwards, although there were small occasional upward spikes where I had two or three winning spins in a row but nothing to suggest that I was going to threaten to surface from the deep hole I'd got myself into. I'd been gambling for nearly a whole day, hardly eaten a thing, was in a cold sweat from the anxiety and completely on tilt. I'd stoped communicating with people hours ago, I was just walking into casino after casino, chucking a few bills wordlessly on the table, refusing to acknowledge any of the Vegas niceties like 'hi sir, how're you today' - the only utterances I could manage were vile profanities under my breath every time the wheel failed to deliver one of my numbers. And of course I swear to myself a million times over the next 12 hours if that I can only just get even I'll not wager a single dime more on this trip and just stick to poker.

So I'm down to about my last $1000 when I stumble into the Gold Coast about 2am. And I went on a roll at last. I won about $3000 in less than an hour. And the comeback trail had begun. I quit the Gold Coast as soon as I lost a couple of spins in a row and tried to continue my recovery somewhere else. In those days, especially in January at 3am in the morning, Vegas casinos can be pretty deserted places. So I was getting a lot of spins per hour under my belt, and the money started to come back reasonably quickly. I added a thousand at the Orleans, another 2k at some other toilet, and despite a few dips here and there the overall trend was upwards and I saw the roll start to threaten to recover to its original starting level of exactly 10,000

Eventually, after 25 hours on this horrible bender, with about 8.5k in my pocket, in touching distance of getting it all back, I find myself back at the Mirage at 4am. So of course I pop up to my room, have a shower to freshen up, dump the bulk of my cash back in the room safe, grab something to eat and drink and the have another go at the tables once I'm refreshed a little, right? Do I heck!! I'm straight to the nearest roulette table where nobody else is playing and I'm off again. I start off with a few blank spins but then I hit some form. A repeat number for a nice score, then a miss, then 3 good numbers in a row. It's looking like I'm actually going to get out of this, and then I hit 28 followed by 29 ( my best number). That's a $525 return to me, I might even be there now!!

I tell the dealer to hold off spinning the wheel while I do a quick count up, but the fat kunt just ignore me and spins the wheel. Panic!! I don't want to quit in the middle of a winning sequence, but if I am over the 10k mark then I don't want to have even one dollar more than my profit on the table. I'm so angry with the croupier, why couldn't he have waited for me, I was the only player at the table, just about the only player in the whole damn roulette section of the casino? Even now I can see his sweaty fat smirking face whenever I remember this vile episode in my life, it's the one detail out of my hazy recollection that remains razor sharp.

He spins a blank number for me, I do a rapid count up, and godammit I'm $11 short!! If the croup had just given me a minute to do an audit before he span the wheel I'd have put a little less on that last spin, walked off with my 10k restored and this whole nightmare would've been over and the holiday saved. Any normal human being would of course have settled for the 11 buck loss, thanked his lucky stars that he'd escaped, and walked away ecstatic. But I knew that the $11 would've bugged me all week.

You know the rest of course. I started betting $3 a spin, after losing like 20 in a row I upped it to $10, couldn't hit a single number, and within 3 hours I'd lost everything. I then sat in the lobby for 3 hours until my friend Joe Beevers arrived from London later that morning so I could borrow a few thousand from him to play poker for the next week.

I've done some bad things since in the degen department, but nothing to ever compare to that night of total abject sickness. These days I don't gamble, I just stick to poker, but whenever this episode pops into my head it's always dominated by the image of that fat ugly kunt at the Mirage who span that wheel one time more.....

Years ago I was in for 500 at the roulette table in AC. Ran it up to 8000. Cashed out. Next day back at the roulette table.. ended up losing it all back!

I’ve won big in roulette but that 8K was probably the most I’ve ever won in one session.

A few days ago went AC with $5K. Lost $4.2K playing roulette. Decided to buy-in to $25 blackjack game with remaining $800.

Ended up cashing out for 5K. Later on that day lost $2K playing poker and bought in to roulette for the remaining $3K. Quickly lost $1K. I said f it and decided to risk the remaining 2K on one column bet which pays 2-1. Ball lands in the middle and I collect $6K.

Heading to Vegas to play maybe cash, maybe some MTG, maybe a WSOP event, not sure. Flight booked for a while.

Spewed off roll playing 5/10 online a week before leaving.

Sunday night with a grand total of $572.90 in my bank account. I'm Canadian so more like $400 USD. Decided I wasn't going to Vegas like a ****ing pussy and took out all my cash leaving a bit for food if I went busto and went to my local casino to play some 1/3 PLO. Sat down, table looked like a bunch of fkn old stupid nits I sat there for about an hour until I picked up my moneymaker - AhAdQh3s. Somebody limps, I raise, somebody 3bets me, I 4bet him, he calls, flop 9cTcJh. **** this **** whatever I have like 150 behind I'm not fkn folding nut gutter bdfd ever. Run it once (obviously) board runs out 2d2h and I stack that dumbass. No other good hands I leave +695cad.

FKN did it lets go vegas got $800 USD I'm fkn ready to take on vegas baby I don't think I can afford any nice hookers but maybe some ugly drug addict cripple will suck me off or maybe some maxican wit a fat ass will sit on my face

Headed to the border today (cheap flight from bellingham so I figured I'd make the trip) and waited for the bus in Blaine for an hour and a half before realizing the floods cancelled the bus schedule. So I had to spew $65 on a taxi to get to the airport which was really frustrating cause i could have maybe played plo or at least blackjack satty into a daily tournament with that 65.

I get to the fkn airport and I'm so tilted from spewing off I immediately deposit $150 CAD onto betonline to play some .5/1 PLO. It goes well until I lose every all in for a bit and lose my stack. I'm steaming and go straight to the cashier and deposit another $150 CAD and sit down short in a 1/2 game. That game goes quite poorly and I lose my stack again. had the foresight to get rid of the rest of the cash in my bank account so it's sitting in a card that doesn't work for gambling sites I can only use it for food and stuff. down 380 CAD / 300 USD.

So I'm sitting in the airport steaming right now I need to wait 6 hours till my damn flight leaves I've got like $550 USD for vegas im ready to spin it up i dont wanna be a broke loser i gotta dig deep and grind and spin that **** up

Not really any "cool" stories. But I was up about $150,000 on the year from crypto/poker/sports betting and I've since lost that all back, plus about $300,000 more in blackjack.

Wasn't really much of a casino player, but they would give me amazing promotions to get me hooked. "They" being offshore sportsbooks/poker sites. I've had several $50k+ days, but also had several $100k losing days.

Biggest bet- $10,000 behind 4 different players in Live Dealer Blackjack on 5Dimes(Now betanysports). So a total of $40,000 on one hand essentially. Each player had reasonable hands, no busts. 18,19,18,20 I believe. Dealer has a 9 behind. Not great, but not the end of the world. Dealer gets a 3, then a 9 for 21.

It was a great first half of 2021 but then I got hooked and couldn't stop. Time to get it back (the right way).

Bro, you've got to know your place. Most of us have had experiences where we had close to zero schmeckles left in the bank and lost the couple bucks that were left in there. It hurts, but it's only significant to us.
