I'm in my hometown visiting a bunch of family. At dinner one of my uncles asks if I like poker. My eyes light up. This town is kind of boring and I'm self excluded from Party, PS, etc, til my cashouts get here.

Well one of his friends owns a pretty big restaurant here. My uncle says they all play poker downstairs at this restaurant. It's a tournament at first, and cash games later depending on who shows up. Sometimes it starts off with as many as 3 tables.

We get there and the rules are:

The buy in is $50, unlimited rebuys until the $50 add-on. The $50 add on is 90 minutes after the tournament starts, and blinds go up every 10 minutes. There are two tables to start. Late registration ends after the add on. I think the blinds stopped going up after the add on, as they got pretty big.

There were 19 to start, one table was 10 handed, the other table was 9 handed.

Table was typical drunken live poker, and two levels in this big vietnamese dude shows up and buys in late to my table. He's sitting two to my right. He's probably playing 90% of hands, and raising nearly every time its his turn preflop. He busts twice when his 99 loses to KK all in pre, and another time when flopped flush draw misses.

He buys in for a third time. One guy opens, vietnamese dude (now referred to as DD) three bets, and I look down at KK. I ship it, first guy folds, DD snap calls. He has J8 of diamonds.

Flop was 10-6-7dd, I was like oh for **** sakes. But he bricks out, I win a nice pot. He gets a little angry at this point.

"KINGS?! What are you ****ing idiots passing them around the table?!"

He buys in for a fourth time, this time for double. So he buys in for $100 and gets 20k chips. He busts again, with his AK all in pre against kings. He slams the table and is pissed off at the world. The host tells him to keep things calm, they're cleaning upstairs, and this is his restaurant.

DD promises to pipe down but these ****ing kings are killing him, and he wants another re-buy. He rebuys for double again. That went just as quick. Eventually he was down $400 in a $50 buy in tournament with half an hour until the add on, lol. He left, came back, and double re-bought again. Lost. Another double re buy. Lost. He's down 6 bills and the add on is coming up, no more rebuys after that.

After busting he waits for the add on, and double rebuys AND gets a double add on. $200 worth of chips later, he's at $800 total bought in.

He spun up a sizeable stack, and there were 6 people left including me, 3 paid. DD got it all in preflop with his QQ, against the bigstacks... Kings, of course.

Flop brought a Q, but the turn was a K. He showed surprisingly little emotion, and asked if the host could text him when the cash games start.

I tend to ramble on, so to keep it short he lost $800 in the $50 buy in tournament, and dusted off another grand in cash games. His girlfriend called a couple of the guys the next day and asked if anyone had seen him, he didn't go home. I guess he told everyone at the end of the night he was going to the next town over, nearly 45 minutes away, to hit up the casino there.

Not a super big loss, or super degen, but seeing someone dust off $800 in a $50 friendly tournament was pretty crazy. Those ****ing kings, man.

I've gotten balls deep in some low buyin games before. It's both embarrassing but hilarious to reflect on. Like, how do you lose 100 big bets in a low-limit game in a session?

Well, I had no idea you could end your self exclusion any time after 24 hours on party...

Ran up a $200 deposit last night to almost 6k. Called out of work today to keep playing and finally dusted off the last bits of it about an hour ago. I look back at the last 24 hours and wonder why I think this is fun. It’s not. It always end the same way.

The first hour or so after you punt is the worst. Recalling all the spots you ‘should’ve stopped’ or bets you would place differently. No matter how much bud I smoke and beers I drink it’s so hard to shake this feeling.

I think I’m gonna give another shot and try and quit again.

I had my entire online balance on third twelve twice and binked both times for over $30k... and then was luckier than all **** to run it up to 47k. I shoulda stopped there and rode out my ban until the money was in my account but nooo.

Yesterday I lost $24k, leaving me at just over $23,000... I have $6k in sports bets even though I'm a huge ****in fish who doesn't follow sports, and I'm trying to run up the remaining $17,000.

Such a sick feeling. You're right, the hour after busting is always the worst, and I know how this ends every ****ing time. You know how this ends. Only one way to stop it and you know what to do. Best of luck Crack..23k may not seem like a lot after 47k..but walk away and know that if you ever really want that 47k mark you can push for it any time down the road. Doesn't have to be accomplished now.

Walking away is the hardest part. Set a mark going into the session..may it be an obscene number. Accomplishing $200-$6000 is an obscene mark. Next time get to that obscene number and stop. You know your luck is going to run dry after that run up..good luck on the next one!

Next time you get to where you want to be roll wise..contact party chat and say you have a gambling problem and want to be permanently banned. That's the only way to do it because their self-exclusion is bs.

I used to think being a degen was like trying to catch lightning in a bottle, but it's so much worse. Even when you catch a big win you still piss it all away.

I've pushed my luck three times and got luckier than all ****. That $47k win dwindled down into $17k. I bet $7k on third. At the last second I switched it to second 12, because of my degen mind noticing some cosmic signs. It straight up miracle bounced out of 31 into 14. I felt so, so good... Watching it in slow motion it looked like a for sure 31, but it came 14. Switching at the last second was like a $20k swing to the good!

That put me at a $31k balance that I turned into $42k in another two spins. What a relief, I can stop... or you know, run up that $2k into something big, and quit at a nice even 40, right? This always works out well...

Well this time it did work out. I'm sitting at $53k and freerolling all of my sports bets I made. I'll post pics later, I permanently denied myself access to the casino and poker on partypoker. I left the sportsbook open as I have those bets placed and I didn't want them to try **** me around somehow.

I have four pretty big bets (for me) that I'm freerolling now, and if I win em all I'm at north of 60k. When this money finally clears I'm gonna send partypoker a nice **** you email. I know it's not their fault I'm an idiot, but why the **** are you allowed to opt out of self exclusions 24 hours after you exclude yourself?! A month long ban should be a month long ban.

Mallorca only got 9 players and got another red card so down to 8 players. I hoped the game would not be cancelled because of to many red cards. In the 93 minute mallorca got an penalty and made 1:1 i lost 5000 Euros. My friend said thats the reality.
