Degen Stories.... - Page 45 - Poker Beats Brags and Variance

OK, here is my stories:

I was 16 and playing a online maffia game called: www.Barafranca.com. The game is a text-based RPG maffia game so you could also gamble there, for playmoney ofcourse. And there is where I found the POKER game.

I was 16, I couldnt deposit, so I played playmoney for days long. I was so obsessed with the game. A frend of me send me like 30$ or something and I was able to build that to 1500$, but before I know it was all gone. I had sick feelings, so I decided to quit with the game.

After 2 years (when I turned to 18) I start depositing. I was playing breakeven the whole time. So one day, my brother asked me to help him with his job. He is working as a Tiler on a occupied house, and I said yes. And there I met the owner of the house, he was also playing poker! after few months we became very good frends. His financial status was good, so he decided to back me for 5000 euros!!

I deposited all the money on pokerstars, it was like 7000$ and now im 19 and playing HUSNGS ftw.

Tell them about the part where u took out that 5K and played roulette and lost it all ... instead of telling them you actually make profits and play HUSNG's which you obviously don't

HAHAHAH paranoide, sick scammer. u lost it all!

by the way for the 2+2 folks, he made an epic dutch thread @ pokernews.nl with his experiances as live homegame grinder for his backer. the truth was he lost it on roulette. most funny part, I discovered his pokerstars nick and big suprise; it was a well known scammer. everyday with a new story about his live poker backing.

No offence taken. Lots of things in my life sound like a level at this point.

I am homeless. I live in my car.

When I wake up each morning, look out my windshield and realize this, it never seems real. Takes like 5 minutes to sink in that I live in my car and I'm one step away from living in a homeless shelter and having absolutely nothing.

I own a laptop which is still holding up. I plug in at Starbucks. I used Starbucks Wi-Fi to find my current part time minimum wage job and I've been applying for others.

I quit poker when I became homeless. Starbucks Wi-Fi is ok for playing but playing under this kind of mental pressure is impossible.

Being homeless sucks. I have no one I can go to for assistance. Been praying a lot lately. The last 3 1/2 months in my car, have broken me mentally. Sometimes I don't feel like I can go on anymore and I think about killing myself. If you are reading this please pray for me, this has been a tough week. Thank you.

You need to take matters into your own hands. LA is different than hawaii.

- DONT start your own project, choose a job that provides you with a steady income. You're young and youll have more opportunities in life eventually.
- dont aim too high. Get a proper job for like 1-2 years while looking for jobs that meet your qualifications more.
- Go through local/regional ads and look for jobs that easily meet your qualifications, while still not being burger flip jobs. With you finishing college, you can stand out.
- Go and look for a job in education/other government jobs. There's always a demand there.
- If nothing works, and your physically capable (knee), join the army.

-NEVER TRY TO MAKE DOLLARS ON THE SIDE PLAYING POKER EVER AGAIN. IT BIT YOU IN THE ASS, AND IT WILL AGAIN IF YOU INTEND TO COUNT IT AS INCOME. Just do it for fun, see it has a hobby and spend money on it like its a hobby, like say, hockey or basketball (not more then 50-80 dlrs a month, did some research).

went from 100-1,100 in PL O8 yesterday
decided to sit down at a 5/10 PL O8 table with brandon cantu at it.
hit top pair with nut flush draw go all in of 500 dollars and he turns over a set that turns to a full house
i sit at a 2/4 table with 400 dollars hit a nut low and flush draw to an idiot who calls with 2nd nut two pair and it holds up.
