I agree. I get a little emotional every time I re-read that paragraph myself.

However, it is stories like these that leave me unable to feel sorry for the homeless population & street walkers in this town who see to be on tough times. The dark path it took them to get there & the stories of literal fortunes blown always makes me go "damn" but as I always say to myself "Life You Live. Life You Chose." I used to work with a guy who was the #2 sales rep in the (car) dealership, selling 20+ cars a month (Equal to about $10-15k/month after taxes) and lived in a trailer park in town that his grandmom's handed down to him when she passed. He was still driving a 1986 Mercedes that was paid off cause every last dime he made, he spent on blackjack & bottle service with escorts. As someone who's never made more than $50k a year at a job until 5 years ago, it's hard to imagine watching a solid bankroll go in reverse that fast in a matter of days with no plan B.
You are one resilient mofo.
Foatie, I read your post shortly after you posted it. I just have been so busy this last couple of weeks I haven't taken the time to log-in and respond but it has been lurking around in my brain ever since.
9/10 times you are correct. The life you live. The life you chose. Please do me this favor. The next time you see one of those homeless or street walkers look deep into their eyes because that is where the story lies. If God forbid, my wife, son, and daughter were to perish in a house fire you just might find me parked out front of the scene on the sidewalk in a solemn drunken stupor til my very last day.
Now for those mean, aggressive, dead-eyed bastards on the streets, FUKKEM!
Thank you for calling me resilient also, that is a high compliment IMO. It takes one to know one
