During the early 2000s I was at a private University and by chance I moved into a house with a few guys from Boston, but we were living in the south.
I had never met the roommate but knew him through personal friend...yada yada... these guys were playing high stakes poker on Pacific Pokerback in the day.... I slowly go into it... Then as the poker boom continued things just got crazy. The guys had another friend who was really good and was winning nearly 50k a month playing on 888 and he was literally cupporting himself at 19 with this. The guy came to our 'frat house' although we were not a real frat, just 6 college sophomores living in a nice house and living like rockstars. The kid paid our $2400 rent, bougth us food, bought all drinks at bars. I actually saw his cashout history as he was a stickler about cashout history and he was always interested in seeing people's cashout history to know if they were the real deal or another fish. He would not let others say they were winning players unless they could prove it through cashout history. he taught me how to play, life was grand, money was no issue, we all had accounts with over $50K in it... We partied like rockstars, bought girls things that we didnt even sleep with, and pretty much played poker for 4 years. We were pretty much GOD DAMNED IDIOTS about BMR but we didnt care, online poker would last forever, the internet was the newst thing to hit earth and why would anyone ever go to a casino again when you could just play on your laptop... How smart we were... I learned the game from these guys.... At the end of college, the poker boom had died down and it was around the time 888 and the others pulle dout of the American market. I never got into the FT / Pokerstars after the 2006 gaming laws and my friends always hinted at the fact of black friday was inevitable. The guy who was the star moved to Europe and now still supports himself through PS but I have no contact with him longer...
Fast forward 5 years to my blowing my liferoll....I am now aprox 30 ..
I WAS an all around entrepreneur, and still am, except this minute Im broke. but this is the story of how you spiral out of control...
I learned of bitcoins in 2009 ... I am very technical savy and can build a computer from scratch.... I began to invest into bitcoin infrastructure and build computers to mine the bitcoins... I am able to build a computer for about 1/3 of its retail value, so I am putting together $800 computers for around $250-$300 I invested nearly $4500 into the stuff, and i began to mine bitcoins successfully... life was grand, my girlfriend was proud... I mined a few hundred bitcions before I even entered the bitcoin forums and saw all the possibilities of the gambling and how bitcoin will be the future of the online gaming industry. I am smart enough to not gamble except NH Texas Holdem.... I dont play house games, i dont sportsbet... blah blah...
I deposited 100 bitcoins which were worth about $18 each at the time into betco.in I blew through the coins in 4 days with no BRM and hadnt touched poker since i played online in college...
So no biggie...$1880 is chump change and I am literally mining bitcoins still, making about 3-4 bitcoins a day... long story short for weeks I lost everything on the betco.in site. The btcontilt.com was created and I thought it was great. So I wanted more bitcoins and at this point I could only mine a few a day, so I bought $5000 worth and blew through that on the bitcoin poker sites.
Then I decided that i needed to mine more bitcoins so I convimced my girlfriend to let me use her $4000k and her $5000 line of credit to build more machines to mine bitcoins. At one point I had 23 computers running in my two bedroom apartment but had to down scale because the heat created was keeping out apartment over 85 degrees, my girlfriend said she didnt like all the noise... I recouped our her $9k investment into my bitcoins machines (computers) and guess what I did with that... lost it in a few days on the btcontilt.com to coolers and one hand for a250 BTC pot with a set of 8s and the board then came flop 10 8 K then Turn K then River Q. The guy had QQ... this hand sent me on life tilt as I was trying so hard to make my bitcoin enterprise work. I blew the rest.
I sold a few machines of the computers, still having about 25 computers, lost that $2k playing on btcontilt.com
The with only 15 machines, down about $15k I kept mining bitcoins and grinding the bitcoin poker sites with small stakes but in vain, as at this point I was just wasting my life because there is no way to pull youself out of a $20k hole playing small stakes btc poker...
I then convinced my girlfriend to let us overdraw her bank account for $4000 and max out her dad's $18k line of credit with Chase. I gambled away most this $20k on the sites and then I went out on my own to open two more credit cards with my girrlfreind's permission which are now also maxed out and the money was lost on bitcoin poker... what gives...?
Also, I do have a job as a delivery driver for just a few hours a day making about $70 cash a day in a few hours,. all this money has been spent on living expensives and guess what else, bitcoin poker.... Luckily I still have my job, but since I was such a degen, I was too stingy to get an oil change because I NEEDED THE MONEY TO PLAY BITCOIN POKER, and I blew my motor DUE TO NO OIL. My car is now worthless except the guy at the junk yard offered me $3k because he said its for parts. Also, the electricity it takes to mine bitcoins is hefty, as I owe over $3500 in electric bills that I have opened in my name, my moms name, my sisters name and my dads name... At this point, when I can't pay the active account, I dont think I have any other family members who I can open new electricity accounts in.
Ultimately my girlfriend knows nothing of this and thinks I have about $50K in bitcoins. Ive kept the ship sailing by buying her nice things here and there...
I have no money, no bitcoins, no computers because I sold them. Bitcoin is at an all time high and I gambled all mine away. I cant pay my rent, I cant pay my electricy, I dont havea working car any more...
Luckily she is about to graduate from a a medical program and have a great life. How do I tell her? LOL, can anyone front me a few bitcoins? address 19sh9nZtfci6HEGuhWadUPz9wCDdD8X53U if your feeling generous.
