Maybe not a huge edge, but i certainly have a good edge. I follow golf religiously, tracking stats, course form, history, weather conditions....whether they like the food where they're playing. This gives me a pretty big edge compared to those who just stick £5ew on their favourite each week. So far this season i've picked 3 outright winners on tour, and have plenty of e/w's come in. I'd say that was a decent edge.

Similarly football. I may sound like a P*ick here, but what i don't know about the Premiership isn't worth knowing.

And....i can assure you he isn't, his bank balance proves it. He went out and bought a wii and 5 games for about £400. Came home, loaded up roulette with £50..within an hour he had reached £400, job done. He has won 5k this year, thats fact.....And he only ever bets on the outside, so winning spins are never more than 3/1.

bull****, hes just on a big heater and he knows it. there's no system for a fair game of roulette, just maths. and thats always against you.

been playing private 2/5 game on fridays last few weeks, won a couple hundred bucks first week, 2nd week.. had 1200 in front of me after a 300 buy in at about 1:00. lose 200 to flush over flush. lose another 300 to KK's vs. AA's. left with 700 total.

past tuesday play at the local charity room 1/2. get my stack up to $450 within an hr and a half on good tight poker when they decide to start round by round, 2/5 PLO and 2/5 holdem.

these ppl are sick .. 600 preflop pots.. etc. i've won a lot b4 and lost a lot b4.

decide to blow the 700 from friday night, + winnings + another $400 I pull from the ATM. Most every one was on the best hand going in vs a draw.

Well, make it back up in the private 2/5 game tonight.

Sorry, I don't think this classifies as a degen story.

But this is a degen story waiting to happen... it just won't be interesting for another 2 years.

Isn't it a bit obvious he couldn't deal with a down swing and every time lost a decentish amount... played martingale with poker moving up in stakes to have a profitable session.

Look at 26k hands... went on tilt and then picked it back up to the constant rise.

Look at 43k hands....

Stakes went a bit crazy around 48k don't know why, but player obviously wasn't good enough for the big game and just didn't have enough $ in the bank to go double or nothing again

Ok I have to share some with you guys. I used to play in the biggest underground spot that was.. very gambol gambol.
I have read every post but nothing compares to the 100's I have from the 5-6 years I spent every tue, thur and sat there.
Heres a good 1. On a Thursday night at 7 we started playing 20-40 lhe and two brothers Max & James would play there when they were flush but never higher than 10-20 and mostly 4-8. Well one night they come in playing every hand and losing terribly.
At 1 am Max announces he's down 4k in this f-ing game and he's not leaving til he's even. He doesn't fold a hand for 2 hrs and I mean raising, reraising, capping with bottom pair or ace hi! He now decides to start accusing the dealer of cheating him and the games rigged bla bla bla. His poor brother agrees because he doesn't play when his brothers involved in a pot. So he basically says i've lost 500 folding every hand for 3 hours and this games gotta be fixed how could I not be able to play 1 hand in 3 hours.

We can't believe when we realize these guys are stuck like 7200 playing 20-40! They leave about 35 minutes later after asking for credit and they get turned down. They come back about 5 am and are completely quiet and buy in for 2k each which is a lot considering theres only 3 of us left and maybe 4400 on the table.

They're winning but not much when suddenly james asks if any1 wants to play 100-200 I say I will but not 3 handed with two brothers and their 3900, james says they have 10k and whips out a wad of money.
I realized there was no way I was gonna play these guys as I hadn't slept in 27 hrs and wasn't playing well. So we agree to play 30-60 I win and quit at 11 am they're still playing when I leave still shocked by how those guys had that kinda roll as I'd never seen em play higher than 10-20.
Fast forward I wake up at 9 pm to phone ringing it's a friend who tells me james and max where arrested for a home invasion where they robbed a local bookie for 15k at 4 am.
They're still in jail im pretty sure but a friend of mine saw James at court and asked him why he did all this. He replied "that 10-20 is some bulls==t!!"

I am a pretty responsible gambler, try to never get my money in bad (unless i'm drunk then its donkcity). My cousin OTOH is the biggest degen I know, except maybe Luckboxxx...

One time, he owed $4000 to his bookie after an NFL weekend, but it was Tuesday morning and he didn't hafta settle up until that evening. For those on the other side of the pond, the bulk of American football matches are on Sunday, but the league gives the degen gamblers one last chance to make up their losses in the form of the Monday Night Football game. Needless to say, he had lost.

So he calls me up Tuesday morning and asks if I want to go to Casino Rama as he has $500 left and needs to turn it into $4k. I like their poker room so we head up to cottage country (Rama is about 100 mins north of Toronto on Indian land). I bring some of Canada's finest herbs and us and 2 others enjoy the medicinally enhanced scenic ride.

We get there around 2pm and I start playing some 4-8 LHE. A couple hours later my cuz comes by and lays on the sob story and asks to borrow $300. I had not lent him any $$ for 2+yrs b/c of earlier degen moments, but I finally relent. Around 6pm I get hungry and go to see if they want to eat. He had gone on a huge heater and was up to $2500, still betting 2 $100 BJ spots at a time. He gives me my $300 back plus hands me 2 black chips and asks me to bet on 14 & 25 on a nearby empty roulette table.

I walk up and place the bets, the croupier spins the little ball, and of course it lands on 25. $3500 in less than a minute. I yell at my cuz that he won and they all rush over and then he places the bet again. This time it land on 14, +$7000 in 3 mins...he spends $1400 trying to replicate the feat but then gives up. I say I am hungry, lets just leave now and go to The Keg and get a nice steak. The roulette pit boss comps us a meal in their steakhouse (obviously to entice him to lose the $$ back) and we proceed to enjoy a nice Lobster Bisque w/Truffles followed by Filet Mignon and then a nice slice of cheesecake. Then we bounce.

We get back to Toronto and he pays his bookie, crisis averted. However, real sports degens know that there is always another game/match/etc tomorrow...
